This Privacy Policy explains how PDF Scanner & Editor handles information when you use the app.
Overview
PDF Scanner & Editor is a document scanner and PDF editor app for Android. The app allows you to scan documents, import images and PDF files, use OCR text recognition, edit PDF pages, save PDF files, share PDF files and choose a storage location on your device.
PDF Scanner & Editor is designed to keep your documents private and process them locally on your device where possible. The app does not require users to create an account, and the developer does not normally know who the user is.
No user account
PDF Scanner & Editor does not require users to create an account in the app.
A Google Play account, Google account or Gmail address is not an account for PDF Scanner & Editor. The developer does not receive your Google Play account email address from normal app use.
Because the app does not use user accounts, there is no app account to delete.
Documents, scans and files
Your scanned documents, imported images, imported PDF files, OCR text, saved PDF files and exported PDF files are processed on your device for scanning, editing, OCR, saving, sharing and exporting.
Your scanned or imported files remain on your device unless you choose to save, export or share them with another app, service or selected storage location.
The developer does not operate a document server for PDF Scanner & Editor and does not receive, upload, store or read the contents of your scanned documents, imported files, exported PDF files or OCR text during normal app use.
Camera access
The app requests camera access so you can scan documents with your phone camera.
Camera access is used only for scanning documents inside the app. The developer does not receive your camera images or scanned document contents from normal app use.
File access and storage
The app may ask you to choose files or a folder so you can import images/PDF files or save exported PDF files.
The app uses Android system file pickers and storage features to let you choose files and storage locations. The developer does not receive the files you select, save or export.
OCR text recognition
The app uses OCR text recognition to detect text in scanned images. OCR results may include recognized text and text position data on the page. OCR accuracy depends on document quality, lighting, language and image clarity.
OCR processing is designed to run locally on your device where possible. The app does not send OCR text or document contents to Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics.
Subscriptions and free trial
The app may offer a subscription or free trial through Google Play. Purchases, subscriptions, free trials, renewals and cancellations are handled by Google Play.
The app receives purchase status information from Google Play to unlock app features. The developer does not receive your full payment details, card details, Google Play password or Google Play account email address from normal app use.
To manage or cancel a subscription, please use your Google Play account settings.
App review flow
The app may use the Google Play in-app review flow to let users rate the app on Google Play. This process is handled by Google Play.
Sharing and export
When you share or export a PDF, the selected file is sent to the app or service you choose through Android sharing or storage features.
After you choose to share or export a file, the receiving app or service may handle the file according to its own privacy policy.
Analytics, app events and advertising measurement
The app may use Firebase Analytics, a service provided by Google Firebase, to help understand how users interact with the app and to improve app features, usability and subscription performance.
Firebase Analytics may collect app event data and technical information such as app opens, session activity, feature usage, import actions, export actions, paywall views, subscription-related events, device information, operating system version, app version, language, advertising identifiers or app instance identifiers where available, and related measurement data.
The app may use Firebase Analytics events for Google Ads measurement and campaign optimization, for example to understand whether users install the app, view the subscription screen, start a free trial or complete a purchase.
The developer uses this information in an aggregated or technical way. The developer does not normally receive names, Gmail addresses, email addresses or document contents from Firebase Analytics.
The app does not send scanned document contents, imported file contents, exported PDF contents or OCR text to Firebase Analytics.
Crash reports and diagnostics
The app uses Firebase Crashlytics, a crash reporting service provided by Google Firebase, to help detect, analyze and fix app crashes and stability issues.
When a crash or error occurs, Firebase Crashlytics may collect diagnostic information such as crash logs, stack traces, device information, operating system version, app version, crash time and related technical data.
This information is used to improve app stability, investigate errors and fix technical problems.
The app does not use Firebase Crashlytics to collect the contents of your scanned documents, imported files, exported PDF files or OCR text.
Data deletion requests
PDF Scanner & Editor does not require users to create an account. Because the app does not use user accounts, there is no app account to delete.
Documents, scans, imported files, exported PDFs and OCR text are stored locally on your device and are not stored on our servers. You can delete these files directly from your device, selected storage location or the app/service used for sharing.
Users may request deletion of app-related analytics, crash or diagnostic data where deletion is technically possible.

Because the app does not use user accounts, we may not be able to identify analytics, crash or diagnostic data from an email address alone. We will review deletion requests and delete app-related data where deletion is technically possible.
Some data may be retained where necessary for legal, security, fraud prevention, payment, accounting or compliance reasons. Some analytics, crash or diagnostic data may also be retained for a limited period according to Firebase/Google retention settings and applicable legal requirements.
Third-party services and libraries
The app uses third-party software components and Google libraries, including libraries for PDF creation/editing, OCR, subscriptions, app review functionality, analytics through Firebase Analytics and crash reporting through Firebase Crashlytics.

Children
The app is not designed to collect personal information from children. Users should only scan and share documents they are allowed to process.
Data security
The app is designed to process documents locally on your device where possible. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Analytics, crash and diagnostic data handled through Firebase services is processed by Google Firebase according to Google's applicable terms and privacy practices.
User responsibility
You are responsible for the documents you scan, import, edit, save, share or export. Do not scan or share documents unless you have the right to do so.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The updated version will be posted on the same page with a new "Last updated" date.
