This Privacy Policy explains how PDF Scanner - Doc & Reader ("the app") collects, uses, and protects your information. By using this app, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
Scanned documents are processed entirely on your device and stored locally under /storage/emulated/0/PDFScanner/. They are never uploaded anywhere without your explicit action.
Google Account (optional) — If you use Cloud Backup, you sign in with Google. We only access the "PDF Scanner Backup" folder we create in your Drive. We never access any other Drive files.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
Ad identifiers (GAID) — to show ads via Google AdMob (free users only)
Crash reports — to improve stability via Google Play Services
Purchase history — to verify Pro subscription via Google Play Billing
2.3 Permissions Used
CAMERA — to scan documents
READ/WRITE EXTERNAL STORAGE — to read and save PDF files
MANAGE EXTERNAL STORAGE — to list all PDFs on device
INTERNET — for ads, Google Sign-In, Drive sync
VIBRATE — for haptic feedback
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version displays ads by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your Advertising ID, IP address, and device information. You can opt out of personalized ads in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
Pro users have all ads completely removed.

4. Cloud Backup (Google Drive)
Pro users only. We request only the drive.file scope — limited to files created by this app. You can revoke access at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
5. OCR (Text Extraction)
Uses Google ML Kit on-device. All processing happens locally. No text or images are sent to external servers.
6. In-App Purchases
One-time Pro purchase processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not store any payment information.
7. Data Storage & Security
All PDFs are stored locally on your device
Passwords use SHA-256 hashing — never stored in plain text
We do not operate any servers that store your documents
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell or trade your personal information. We share data only with:
Google AdMob (ads, free users only)
Google Play Billing (purchase verification)
Google Drive API (cloud backup, Pro users who opt in)
Google ML Kit (on-device OCR only)
9. Children's Privacy
This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
10. Your Rights
Uninstalling the app removes all local data
Delete Google Drive backups directly from your Drive
Disable personalized ads in Android Settings
Revoke Google Drive access at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions
