This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use our Android application ("PDF Reader" or the "App").
PDF Reader is designed to allow users to discover, access, view, organize, rename, delete, and manage PDF documents stored on their Android device.
By using PDF Reader, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
PDF Reader is designed to process your PDF documents locally on your device.
Nexa Labs does not upload, collect, or store your PDF documents or their contents on our servers.
We do not intentionally collect personal information such as:
Name
Email address
Phone number
Postal address
Contents of your PDF documents
PDF passwords entered by you
The App may, however, use third-party services such as Google AdMob. These third-party services may collect or process certain information from or about your device as described in the Advertising and Third-Party Services sections of this Privacy Policy.
PDF Reader allows you to discover and manage PDF documents stored on your Android device.
The App may access PDF files on your device for purposes including:
Discovering PDF files
Displaying PDF files
Rendering PDF pages
Opening PDF documents
Searching for PDF documents within the App
Managing favourite PDF files
Renaming PDF files
Deleting PDF files
Viewing password-protected PDF documents
Your PDF documents and their contents are processed locally on your device.
Nexa Labs does not upload your PDF documents or their contents to its servers.
We do not use the contents of your PDF documents for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.
PDF Reader supports password-protected PDF documents.
When you open a password-protected PDF, the App may ask you to enter the password required to open the document.
The password you enter is processed locally on your device solely for the purpose of opening and displaying the protected PDF.
Nexa Labs does not receive, upload, or store your PDF password on its servers.
To display certain password-protected PDF documents, the App may temporarily create a decrypted copy of the document within the App's private temporary or cache storage.
This temporary copy:
Is created only when necessary to display the protected PDF.
Is stored locally on your device.
Is not uploaded to Nexa Labs servers.
Is not intentionally shared with third parties.
Is intended to be deleted when it is no longer required by the App.
The original password-protected PDF is not intentionally modified as part of this process.
PDF processing and password handling are performed locally using Android PDF rendering functionality and the PDFBox Android open-source library.
To provide certain features, PDF Reader stores limited information locally on your device.
This may include:
Favourite PDF file references
PDF file names associated with favourites
App preferences
Selected language
First-launch settings
Other application configuration settings
This information is stored locally using Android storage technologies, including Room Database and SharedPreferences, where applicable.
Nexa Labs does not transmit this locally stored information to its own servers.
If you uninstall the App or clear its application data, locally stored application data may be deleted by Android.
PDF Reader may request All Files Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) on supported Android versions.
This permission is used because PDF Reader's core functionality includes discovering and managing PDF documents stored in different locations on the user's device.
All Files Access may allow the App to:
Scan the device for PDF files
Discover PDF documents stored in different folders
Display available PDF documents within the App
Open PDF documents
Rename PDF documents
Delete PDF documents
Manage PDF files as part of the App's core PDF management functionality
The App uses this access for PDF management functionality.
Nexa Labs does not use All Files Access to upload, collect, or transmit the contents of your PDF documents to our servers.
You can manage the App's access through your Android device settings.
If you do not grant the required file access permission, certain PDF discovery and management features may not function correctly.
PDF Reader displays advertisements using Google AdMob.
Google AdMob and its advertising partners may collect or process certain information to provide, measure, personalize, and improve advertising, as well as for analytics, security, fraud prevention, and related purposes.
Depending on applicable settings, consent, and regional requirements, information processed by advertising services may include:
IP address
Device or other identifiers
Advertising identifiers
App interactions
Diagnostic information
Information related to advertising delivery and measurement
Advertising personalization and the processing of advertising-related information may depend on your consent, device settings, and applicable laws.

PDF Reader may use the following third-party technologies and services:
Google AdMob
Used to display advertisements and provide advertising-related services.
PDFBox Android
An open-source PDF processing library used locally within the App to process PDF documents, including certain password-protected PDF documents.
PDFBox is used for local PDF processing and is not used by Nexa Labs to upload or collect your PDF documents.
Third-party services may process information in accordance with their own privacy policies and terms.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of applicable third-party services.
We take reasonable measures to protect information processed by the App.
PDF documents and PDF passwords handled by the PDF viewer are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to Nexa Labs servers.
Temporary decrypted PDF files may be created in the App's private temporary or cache storage when required to display password-protected documents. These temporary files are intended to be deleted when they are no longer required.
Favourite information and application preferences are stored locally on your device.
However, no method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security on your device, including using device security features such as a screen lock where appropriate.
Nexa Labs does not maintain server-side copies of your PDF documents or PDF passwords.
PDF documents remain stored on your device and under your control.
Locally stored App preferences and favourite information remain on your device until they are removed through applicable App functionality, Android settings, clearing App data, or uninstalling the App.
Temporary decrypted PDF files created for rendering password-protected documents are intended to be deleted when they are no longer required by the App.
Advertising-related information collected by third-party services is subject to the applicable retention and deletion policies of those third-party services.
PDF Reader is a general-purpose PDF reading and document management application and is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
Because the App uses third-party advertising services, advertising practices may be subject to additional requirements depending on the user's age, location, consent status, and applicable laws.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us directly, please contact us using the information below.
You may control certain aspects of the App through your Android device settings, including applicable file and storage permissions.
Depending on your location and applicable laws, you may also be presented with choices regarding advertising personalization and consent.
You may:
Choose whether to grant applicable file/storage permissions.
Manage All Files Access through Android device settings.
Clear the App's locally stored data through Android settings.
Uninstall the App to remove its locally stored application data.
Manage applicable advertising-related settings through your device or available consent mechanisms.
Please note that disabling required file access may prevent some PDF discovery and management features from working correctly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Any changes will be reflected by updating the Last Updated date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
We encourage you to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed about how information is handled.
Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acknowledgment of the updated Privacy Policy.
