Travel to Storrs
By air: The closest airport is Bradley Airport. You can take taxi/Uber/Lift to hotel or UConn Storrs.
By train: You can take Amtrak to Hartford Union Station, then use taxi/Uber/Lift.
By car: Take Interstate 86 to Exit 68 (Route 195 Mansfield/Tolland/UConn). Go south on Route 195 for about seven miles (going straight through the intersection of Route 32 and Route 44). About one-half mile after that intersection, you will come to a traffic light one top of a hill at the entrance to Uconn. Stay on Rt 195/Storrs Rd and go through three more lights. You will see a pond on your right. Turn right onto Mansfield Road at that traffic light. The Monteith building is located at the intersection of Mansfield Rd and Whitney Rd on your left.
Parking
Free parking on weekends for the following parking spaces on campus. Please read the sign carefully. If the sign says "permit required 24/7", DO NOT park there. Check out the Parking Map below for the exact locations for free parking.
Area 1 parking lot behind von der Mehdan Recital Hall. After you turn left onto Mansfield Rd, turn left onto Conventry Rd, this is LOT R on your left.
On street parking on Whitney Rd. Please note there is a portion on the left side in front of Arjona Building (the one opposite to Monteith Building) is marked as 24/7 with permit. DO NOT park there.
Area 1 parking lot in front of Manchester Hall. Drive along Mansfield Rd, passing Monteith building on your left, this is the small parking lot at the end of Mirror lake to your right.
Area 2 parking at the end of Bishop Drive to your left. Turn left to Bishop Drive at the same traffic light where you turn right to Mansfield Road. This is the parking lot behind Merlin Bishop Center. Please DO NOT park in LOT B or the parking lot in front of Merlin Bishop Center. Those lots are 24/7 with a permit.
Area 2 parking in LOT S on Bolton Road. Turn right onto Bolton Road at the next traffic light from the Mansfield Rd, the parking lot is on your left side behind E. O. Smith high school.
Paid parking
The Downtown Storrs Parking Garage, located at 33 Royce Circle, offers ample short-term parking and the first two hours are provided at no-charge; a $1/hour fee is charged for subsequent hours ($8/day maximum during the hours of 6:00 AM to midnight, with $2/hour from midnight until 6:00 AM). Payment is required upon exiting.
On campus South Garage, designated by online app (paybyphone or flowbird) or kiosk. Payment must be made upon entry for the expected duration of the visit. Additional time can be added via the app or another session can be purchased at a kiosk. Daily maximum $30.
Visitor parking in available on the street, designated PayByPhone locations. Watch out! Some on street parking are only one hour or 30 minutes parking.
