CW decoder

My newest decoder based on Matt Roberts version 2.0 modem software is now with Oled character display.

For field days a decoder with bright Oled display, five text lines, WPM and tuning indicator an adjustable bandwidth from 200 - 500hz and tone from 680 - 800 Hz can be very useful, current draw is about 150mA and can be powered easily with battery's

Dave Cossar GM3WIL says something about the decoder,

I have been testing it now at low signal strengths things not even showing on the "s" meter that decode perfectly, stuff I can barely hear. But when there is a pileup with multiple stations calling I does copy the stations the selectivity and sensitivity mean an extra filter on the input is not required.

The front end with the Audio shield is superb ,like I said there is a slight start delay I have detected where it locks on but that is only 100mS measured on my storage scope.

Machine generated code is a dawdle more challenging is the hand sent stuff ,but that decodes well with slightly more errors.

The Tuning is sharp but I still prefer your old TFT screen tuner green centre when locked on, but the on screen of this tuner is good but I need practice hi. The box is a tight fit the PCB is in the centre should be moved slightly away from the encoder and a 1000uF wired into the PWR in socket.

Still testing but I congratulate you all your hard work has been worth it. Testing it next to the Lofter ver LCD decoder there is no contest this new

decoder is head and shoulders above the old one I think my picture was too big for the radio stuff site I will reduce it and try again.

I will try it on VHF tonight and let you know the results.

Thanks,

Dave GM3WIL
