2023-24 Scouting Fees Explained

How to pay registration fees:

Returning Scout fees are $240 per scout for the year.

New Scout Pack fees are $80 (due now to the Pack), with $185 due to the BSA once you are placed in a den (after registration close).

You can pay the Pack via CheddarUp.

What do these fees cover?

National/Council Fees

In order to host dens, we need to form a Pack (a group of dens) and be chartered by the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). To that end, we must pay rechartering fees, insurance costs, and council fees for each scout and adult volunteer.

We do not set any of these costs. New scouts pay these fees directly; returning scouts pay the Pack and we submit payment on their behalf at recharter.

Pack Fees

The Pack provides Class B tees, holds meetings and events throughout the year that require a modest budget.

Also, the BSA requires a fee for adult volunteers.  As adults are already donating their time, the Pack covers the cost of adult registration via the Pack fees.

Additional Fees for Scouting

Den Fees

Den fees are entirely at the discretion of your den leader. Den leaders may collect a small fee to purchase supplies for den activities. These fees will vary from den-to-den and rank-to-rank.

Some den leaders opt not to collect any fees at all and instead ask parents to chip in as needed.

Other Fees

There are some other fees to be mindful of when budgeting.
