Czur ET16 Plus Copy Camera for rapid copying of books, photos, etc. At 300 dots per inch, it is suitable for most digitizing of record books, papers, snapshots etc. It is fast with a foot pedal. You can see one of our members using a CZUR camera on youtube. Funded by a generous grant from the Albert Victor Ravenholt Fund.
Our use of the camera is to make an index into our collections of books and folders of family history information. We copy the title page and contents in each of our books and put that online as well as the outside of our folders with the information contained inside. As we get volunteers, we will use it to scan the actual folder contents too.
This may be used by drop-in folks who want to copy their old scrapbooks, photos or other items. Make an appointment to learn how to use it.
An example of a set of obituaries digitized with this camera can be found at Obituaries
August 28th, 1 pm, we tour the Trade Lake Townhall to see what types of records are kept that may be of value for family history. Open to the public
The September 25th meeting will begin at the Luck Museum as Pam Petersen will be showing a video about the West Denmark church history etc. We will then go to West Denmark, probably the cemetery first as that is where Paul Petersen has lots of stories about the people buried there. The records are at the church in the basement with a digital copy in the Luck Museum.
October 23rd is a working day at the Ravenholt Family History Center in the Luck Museum.
November 27th is our pot luck Christmas Party, noon at the Luck Museum. Speaker will be Russ Hanson "What I learned about my family history from DNA analysis."
Meetings are held the fourth Monday of the month at 1 pm. See our Facebook page for location, and other details.
