Over the past several years, the Parents' Circle has accumulated a significant amount of funds as a result of Covid Lockdowns and changeover of committee staff. This has come from membership charges from both past and present parents. The aim of the Parents' Circle is to help strengthen the school community and support the students, rather than accumulate funds. The current committee is therefore eager to invest these funds in school facilities that enhance students' experiences, in line with the Parents' Circle’s aims.
One proposal under consideration is the full refurbishment of the school's climbing wall. Originally installed in 1989, the wall has served generations of students. However, in 2023, an inspection deemed it unsafe for use. The school commissioned a quotation for its reinstatement that same year, estimating the cost at over £15,000 - an amount likely to have increased since.
Funding the refurbishment would consume a significant proportion of the Parents' Circle’s available funds. While the revitalised wall would undoubtedly benefit many current and future students, we believe this level of investment warrants a broader discussion among parents.
Through this poll, we hope to gather your input - whether to proceed with the refurbishment or to explore alternative projects that align with the Parents' Circle’s mission.
Your feedback is invaluable in ensuring that these funds are used in a way that best serves our school community.
