Pan-Canadian Self-Organizing Conference on Machine Learning

Nov 23 - 24, 2019

The Self-Organizing Conference on Machine Learning: Pan-Canadian Edition, will be held on Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24 at the Mila Institute in Montreal at 6650 St. Urbain.

We are excited to announce the first edition of PCSOCMLx! We invite ALL researchers from Mila, Vector, and Amii (Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute) and our academic partners to attend.

Applications are now closed.

PCSOCMLx is an "unconference" focused on advancing the field of machine learning through collaboration between participants from diverse backgrounds, including their fields of study. It’s decentralized by design, with participants driving agenda and conversation.

PCSOCMLx aims to:

  • Encourage discussion of the latest in machine learning research. PCSOCMLx provides a research focused space for participants to catch up and share with colleagues what they are currently working on and thinking about. Anyone can bring any poster; there’s no latency introduced by a review process.
  • Foster interaction and camaraderie. At PCSOCMLx, attendees including newcomers and experienced pioneers, can meet and share their experiences with others.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion. PCSOCMLx supports diversity of perspectives and offers travel grants for those in need. Reach out to your institute's organizer for information.

This will be the first local gathering of PCSOCMLx, targeting the academic community in Canada.
