Meet Our Team

Katy Emond

Katy Emond has spent the past sixteen years in public education as a high school English teacher and Drama Club Director.  In her time working at the Bellows Falls Union High School, she has directed memorable shows such as Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, Beauty & The Beast, and many more.  She has also spent the past twenty-five years teaching swimming lessons around southern Vermont after being certified through both the Red Cross and The American Swim School Association.  She is now joining PCS as the Afterschool Activities Director.

Serena Clapp-Clark

Serena is a Mill River alumni, and holds a degree in French and Russian studies from Mount Holyoke College.  She studied at the Vermont Center for Dance Education in Rutland Vermont for four years.  After college, she returned as a dance instructor.  Currently she works as a para in the Pre-K and 5th grade classrooms at Putney Central School, and as an afterschool teacher.  

Shaylah Kelcey

Shaylah grew up in Brattleboro, Vermont and attended Brattleboro Union High School.  There she completed coursework in early child development and nursing through the Windham Career Center.  She loves animals and has a dog, Jackson.  She also enjoys being outdoors four-wheeling and hiking, and is currently building her own tiny house.

 Shaylah loves teaching small children, and has several cousins, nices and nephews she enjoys spending time with.

Tori Kreatz

Tori Kreatz was born in Rhode Island and raised in New Hampshire. She has a three-year history of helping individuals learn to work with their disabilities and develop life skills. Tori is currently attending college to obtain her bachelor's degree in Psychology. She plans to continue her education and become an occupational therapist. In her free time, Tori relaxes with her dog, friends, and family. She enjoys her plants, being crafty, and finding new hobbies! 

Brittany Hartwell

Brittany is joining us as our new CACFP cook.  During the day, Brittany works as a cook for Southwestern Community Services.  She enjoys making delicious foods and feeding young tummies.  We are so excited to have her joining us!

Shannon Ward

Shannon Delaney Ward is a teaching artist based out of Brattleboro, Vermont. She began her theater education at a young age at the New England Youth Theatre in Brattleboro. Shannon has been a part of several touring companies, including The Penumbra Players, Manhattan Shakespeare, and The Vermont Suitcase Company, where she also works as a producer. She spent 8 months as a resident artist at Shakesperience Productions, a touring educational theater company based out of Waterbury Connecticut. Shannon is a manager of the Hooker-Dunham Theater and Gallery in downtown Brattleboro. When she is not acting or teaching, she enjoys knitting and walking her dog. 

Sam Quintal

Sam Quintal grew up in Fairbanks Alaska skiing all the time. Then he spent almost 20 years living in drearily warm places without enough snow to ski (but having a great time playing viola in a string quartet). He was very excited to dive back into the sport 2 years ago and bring his two daughters along for the ride! 

Dan Foster

Dan Foster is well-known local chess enthusiast who has been working with kids in the Putney community for many years. He first discovered the healing benefits of Tai Chi in his early twenties to help sooth anxiety.  Since then he has taught Tai Chi at various places over the years, including at Landmark College where he instructed a course entitled "Tai Chi: Mindfulness in Motion."  He is currently working on a short book to help people bring the principles of Tai chi to meet their daily challenges.  In his class, students will learn the first nine postures.
