The number of elective credits:
Nine elective credits (including 1+ lab credit) are required for (ACS-approved) BS in Chemistry.
Two to five elective credits are required for (ACS-approved) BS in Biochemistry.
Five to six elective credits are required for BA in Chemistry.
Ten elective credits are required for BA in Biochemistry.
The chemistry minor requires 15-credit general chemistry and 16-credit upper-division chemistry courses.
For transfer students: If a transfer student completed the general chemistry series at another institution with fewer than 15 credits, she/he may make up the credit deficiency using any other courses not used for her/his degree. This rule applies to other chemistry series or courses transferred from other institutions.
