Using all of the skills that you have learned this far, FOCUS on compositions that lend themselves to interesting abstraction and shoot them to the best of your ability. Try to find things and photograph them in a way you’ve never seen them before.

OR

Take a series of photographs each illustrating a particular color. Try to make each image as different as possible and try introducing other visual elements into the composition. As well as the more obvious interpretations, such as a leaf for the color green, look for more unexpected ways of illustrating your chosen theme, such as a park bench or a close-up of a painted fishing boat.

FACIAL PORTRAITS AND CLOSE UPS:

1. A photo that shows DIRECTIONAL LIGHT

2. A photo that shows SOFT LIGHT

3. A photo that uses a REFLECTOR

ENVIRONMENTAL PORTRAIT:

Photograph someone in an environment that says something about who they are. Take at least three photographs that use the following:

1. Use framing to help emphasize the subject and environment. (Think framing using architecture, props, or wide views to see the background.)

2. Use strong lighting contrast to emphasize the person, environment, or both.

3. Include props to help provide even more context for who this person is.

Using all of the skills that you have learned this far, I want you to focus on things in nature and shoot them to the best of your ability. Try to find things and photograph them in a way you’ve never seen them before. The more you play with angles and moving your self to an unusual position, the more interesting your photos will be.

OR

Using all of the skills that you have learned this far, FOCUS on silhouettes and shoot them to the best of your ability. Only use a Digital SLR camera. The trick to photographing silhouettes is to underexpose your subject (too dark) and overexpose your background (too bright). You will not follow your meter for exposure in this project, but rather expose for the dramatic light. Try to set up your subject and photograph them in a way you’ve never seen them before.
