In celebration of our 77th Foundation Anniversary, Pilgrim Christian College is formally integrating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into our commemorative activities. This endeavor is deeply rooted in our commitment to Whole Person Christian Education, as defined by our Vision and Mission: F.I.R.E.S. (Faith, Integrity, Responsibility, Excellence, Service).
This formal inclusion primarily responds to SDG 4: Quality Education, the foundational goal that mandates inclusive, equitable, and lifelong learning for all. PCC has always embodied the spirit of SDG 4 by ensuring our graduates are not just academically proficient, but ethically grounded leaders, ready to make a lasting, positive impact, the very definition of quality outcomes. Furthermore, by linking specific events like the Fun Run (SDG 3: Health) and Tree Planting (SDG 15/13: Environment) to the global framework, we actively fulfill the Responsibility and Service components of our mission, demonstrating that our dedication to holistic growth naturally translates to supporting sustainable development. From hereon, every Foundation Anniversary will serve as a commitment check, ensuring our institutional purpose remains aligned with building a sustainable and just future for the community we serve.
Beyond education, the anniversary fulfills the school's Responsibility and Service values by contributing to several other SDGs. The Pilgrim Tree Planting directly supports SDG 15 (Life on Land) and SDG 13 (Climate Action), while the 77th Fun Run promotes SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and community cohesion (SDG 11). Furthermore, recognizing the Employee Service Award and the success of TOP Awardees reinforces SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). Finally, the collective efforts across all events, including the Chrism Concert and Alumni Homecomings, solidify SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) and build the cultural foundation necessary for strong, peaceful institutions (SDG 16).
