When will the strategic plan be implemented?

Once the strategic plan is finalized, it will be implemented over the course of the next 5 years. We will begin planning work as early as this summer, 2022, and the schools will start to see the impact of the work as early as next school year. While we know that the change process is best done slowly and deliberately, we also recognize the urgency of the community’s priorities for change. These strategic plan should accommodate both.

Who is involved in deciding what should go into the strategic plan?

PBSD has utilized a range of strategies to get input from the school and surrounding community on the strategic plan. After considering this input, the Community Advisory Committee will work in partnership with PBSD leadership to make the final decision on what to include in the strategic plan.

How is the community involved in this strategic planning process?

Community opportunities to provide input into the strategic plan have included:

• community members completing a survey on their vision, goals, and values for the district

• school staff and students participating in interviews to share about what's working and what needs improvement in schools

• the Community Advisory Committee weighing in on what goals to prioritize in the strategic plan

• community members participating in focus groups to share their opinions on what strategies they thought would most likely make a positive impact on students

• (in the future) community members can share their thoughts on how to make the strategic plan successful in upcoming town hall meetings

How will we know what progress is being made on the strategic plan?

This site will be updated regularly to inform community members about the progress being made in implementing the strategic plan.

Who will implement and monitor the strategic plan?

The district will identify partners to support implementation and progress monitoring. As this gets defined, partner information will be added here.
