In Fall 2021, PBSD began a yearlong strategic planning process. Through this thoughtful and inclusive process, we established concrete strategies to realize a long-term vision.

December 2022: The Pine Bluff School District (PBSD) has completed the strategic plan! This plan will set the course for the district for the next several years. The plan includes five strategies that address expanding learning opportunities for students, creating safer environments, improving school facilities, increasing the number of excellent teachers and leaders, and building trust in the district. Each of the strategies will be implemented over the next five years. The plan will be a key indicator for the Arkansas State Board of Education to determine whether PBSD is ready and able to return to local authority after it completes the five year span of state control on June 30, 2024. Through this process, we hope to enable our children to maximize their learning, increase their academic and work-related skills, and develop strong identities as capable and responsible young people that believe they can make a difference in their world and in this community.
Let’s work together to capitalize on our community strengths and prepare our children to thrive. Let’s take the energy we are building in our schools and extend it out into our community to develop economic stability and an abundance of cultural expression and intellectual innovation.
