Pursuant to the Republic Act No. 6655 known as “Free Secondary Education Act of 1998”, the Sangguniang Bayan has proposed to establish a public high school in Pintong Bukawe, San Mateo, Rizal in order to address the growing need of Barangay for a public high school. Fortunately, San Mateo National High School-Pintong Bukawe Annex was established on May 1999 through the cooperative efforts of the people from the municipal government under the administration of former Mayor Engr. Crispin “Amo” Santos, Miss Juana M. Garovillas, the former principal of San Mateo National High School and the Barangay Captain of Pintong Bukawe, Mr. Danilo Laceste Sr. The primary concern of this institution is to provide free, quality education to all and lessen the illiteracy in the community.
Consequently, Miss Juana M. Garovillas assigned Mr. Romeo Benitez and Mr. Chito Ferro who started the opening of the classes in the first year and second year with one hundred thirty (130) students. The school building with two rooms were first occupied by the elementary level but later vacated when the situation became worst due to the presence of MMDA garbage site. Mr. Benitez and Mr. Ferro taught all the subjects in both first year and second year respectively. After two months upon its first operation, the two teachers were replaced by the new set of teachers under provincial and municipal items.
When Ms. Juana M. Garovillas transferred to Tanay National High School, Mrs. Remedios C. Gervacio took over the principalship of San Mateo National High School including its annexes. For these reasons, she recommended Mr. Alfredo D. Lopez as the new Teacher-In-charge.
Mr. Alfredo D. Lopez, assumed responsibility as the head of the school on June 2001. On May 17,2005, due to his promotion as principal I and transferred to Burgos National High School, he appointed Mrs. Remedios C. Gervacio to act as Officer-in-charge.
After a month, on July 3, 2005, Mrs. Elvira R. Conese was formally designated as new teacher-in charge. During her term, PBNHS reached two of its most important milestones, the official donation of the land occupied by the school and its independency, making it certified National High School.
On August 2010, Mrs. Marjorie C. Gaynilo was locally assigned as Officer-In Charge due to transfer of Mrs. Gervacio as principal to Montalban Heights National High School.
On the succeeding year, August 2011, Mr. Leandro Matocinos was appointed as Officer-in Charge, and later the first principal of PBNHS.
On January 13,2014, Mr. Matocińos was transferred to Benjamin B. Esguerra Memorial National High School, due to his transfer, Mrs. Marjorie C. Gaynilo was again appointed as the Officer-in charge by the virtue of DepEd special order No. 1-I series of 2014.
As Mrs. Gaynilo take a leave due to her pregnancy,on January 2015, PBNHS had a new Officer-In Charge in the person of Miss Anagine E. Sindac. She manages the school until June 2016.
From July 2016 up to this day, Mrs. Marjorie C. Gaynilo was the assigned Officer-In Charge of Pintong Bukawe National High School.
Pintong Bukawe National High School has its Junior High School and Senior High School building. With a total learner’s population of 374, 16 teaching and 1 non-teaching personnel, 2 security guard, 2 canteen helper, 1 school maintenance and 1 school clerk.
