Pompano Beach High School

Course Resource Page

A site created by our National Honor Society members during the COVID-19 pandemic that provides students with great resource links for courses at Pompano Beach High School.

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, National Honor Society has created this web page to provide Pompano Beach High School students with plenty of resources for courses offered at PBHS.

Here you can find courses divided by their subject! Use the top bar to look for each course or scroll down the front page to find it.

Each course page has link to websites, YouTube videos, and PDFs, along with helpful tips from students who successfully completed these courses.

About Us

The National Honor Society is a nationwide organization for high school students that follows the four pillars: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. We currently have 60 members who dedicate themselves to these four pillars through tutoring students in need, participating in various service projects, and by being leaders in not only the school, but the wider community. Each member dedicates 20 community project volunteer hours and 10 tutoring hours per semester.*

If you are a junior or senior and would like to apply to be apart of this amazing program this fall, please click the links below:

Total Service Hours + GPA recorded in Virtual Counselor

*As stated in Canvas, It is a requirement to earn 20 service hours each semester: 10 for activities and 10 for tutoring either after school or during personalization periods. You may count extra tutoring towards your activity hours.

NHS service hours earned are unique to the club requirements. However, service events that

benefit the school or community such as tutoring, working at the Teacher's Warehouse, beach

and park clean-ups, food collections, and projects to benefit children may be considered for

Virtual Counselor service as well. These MUST be approved and signed off by the NHS sponsor.

Book Buddies

Our National Honor Society's Virtual Book Buddies program was founded amidst the pandemic, when we realized that elementary-aged students may not be getting the same amount of reading time that they would usually get during standard school hours. Our NHS members read with the students via weekly Zoom calls. Last year alone, we logged over 130 hours of reading and had over 50 children signed up to be read with!

If you are a parent and you would like to sign your child up to read with one of our NHS members, please click the link below.

Tutoring Videos

For the 2019-2020 school year, NHS students, who already took the AP course and received a 4 or a 5 on the exam, volunteered to lead AP group review sessions for students currently enrolled these AP courses. The links to the right will direct you to the videos done in April and May of 2020.

Site Framework done by Andrea Castellano. Each individual page is completed by an NHS member who would consider themselves a "student expert" in that subject. Their names are listed at the bottom of each page.

Our National Honor Society's tutoring program is currently 100% virtual because of the current pandemic circumstances. To sign up for one-on-one tutoring with one of our NHS tutors, please click the link below.
