SpeechTexter is a free multilingual speech-to-text application aimed at assisting you with transcription of notes, documents, books, reports or blog posts by using your voice. This app also features a customizable voice commands list, allowing users to add punctuation marks, frequently used phrases, and some app actions (undo, redo, make a new paragraph).

Voice-to-text software is exceptionally valuable for people who have difficulty using their hands due to trauma, people with dyslexia or disabilities that limit the use of conventional input devices. Speech to text technology can also be used to improve accessibility for those with hearing impairments, as it can convert speech into text.

SpeechTexter is using Google Speech recognition to convert the speech into text in real-time. This technology is supported by Chrome browser (for desktop) and some browsers on Android OS. Other browsers have not implemented speech recognition yet.

SpeechTexter by default saves your data inside your browser's cache. If your browsers clears the cache your data will be deleted.

However, you can export your custom voice commands to your device and import them when you need them by clicking the corresponding buttons above the list.

SpeechTexter is using JSON format to store your voice commands. You can create a .txt file in this format on your device and then import it into SpeechTexter.

An example of JSON format is shown below:

SpeechTexter doesn't store any text that you dictate. Please use the "autosave" option or click the "download" button (recommended). The "autosave" option will try to store your work inside your browser's cache, where it will remain until you switch the "text autosave" option off, clear the cache manually, or if your browser clears the cache on exit.

As a result of recent updates, the Android operating system has implemented restrictions that prevent users from accessing folders within the Android root directory, including SpeechTexter's folder. However, your old files can still be imported manually by selecting the "import" button within the Speechtexter application.

Text-to-speech goes by a few names. Some refer to it as TTS, read aloud, or even speech synthesis; for the more engineered name. Today, it simply means using artificial intelligence to read words aloud be; it from a PDF, email, docs, or any website. Instantly turn text into audio. Listen in English, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, or more and choose your accent and character to personalize your experience.

Beautifully. Speech synthesis works by installing an app like Speechify either on your device or as a browser extension. AI scans the words on the page and reads it out loud, without any lag. You can change the default voice to a custom voice, change accents, languages, and even increase or decrease the speaking rate.

AI has made significant progress in synthesizing voices. It can pick up on formatted text and change tone accordingly. Gone are the days where the voices sounded robotic. Speechify is revolutionizing that.

Once you install the TTS mobile app, you can easily convert text to speech from any website within your browser, read aloud your email, and more. If you install it as a browser extension, you can do just the same on your laptop. The web version is OS agnostic. Mac or Windows, no problem.

Speechify TTS stands out by offering a more natural and human-like voice quality, a wider range of customization options, and user-friendly integration across devices. Plus, our dedication to accessibility means that we ensure a seamless and inclusive experience for all users.

I was using the Galaxy S9 before I switched to the pixel 4 XL and now it seems like every time I tap the microphone to use the speech to text feature it lags for one to three seconds before I can actually speak. The Galaxy S9 was almost instant. I have all of the most recent updates. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

No idea what's happening here. I've been using voice text for 90% of my messaging for the last 5 or so years, and ever since I got my 14 Pro Max it's been adding random commas to sentences for no reason without me saying "comma".

Amazon Polly uses deep learning technologies to synthesize natural-sounding human speech, so you can convert articles to speech. With dozens of lifelike voices across a broad set of languages, use Amazon Polly to build speech-activated applications.

The most common answer to this problem I find is to reboot the phone, make sure you have the update, and turn off voice control. I have rebooted the phone. I have the current update. My voice control is turned off.

That is exactly what's been happening on my phone the last couple weeks.. it will not put someone's name in the text when I do voice to text .... it skips right over it. Everything else is there accept someone's name. Crazy.

Groetg Colvdv the best voice to text solution I can recommend is to use GBoard in tandem with our sandboxed google play services, after downloading GBoard select the Faster Voice Typing option that will download a voice model to your phone for offline use, then you can revoked GBoards network permission for a fully offline dictation option.

MetropleX following switching on "faster voice typing," a few minutes was not long enough before denying network to Gboard, but overnight was. After clearing Gboard storage to zero, then activating Faster Voice Typing, i watched storage climb slowly to over 240mb. It seemed to level off but still didn't work without network. Presently it's 263mb and works, but that may include other assets ?

I'm currently having issues with the solution provided by @MetropleX. I've installed Gboard and checked the option Faster voice typing. I can see that data is downloaded as the User data goes up and flatlines at 228 MB. However, if I remove network permissions I just get the error that Google can't be contacted right now.

The one thing I miss from my Samsung watch was being able to quickly reply to texts using the watch. My Venu2 does have quick responses which are pretty good but speaking a response would be better. It looks like the 2+ supports that?

Thank you Chadman. To clarify, if I got 4 or 5 texts I would have to have Hey Google read them to me so I could reply, but if I looked at them in the text Glance I could still use the quick replies I have defined (android only). Yes?

The new voice capability is powered by a new text-to-speech model, capable of generating human-like audio from just text and a few seconds of sample speech. We collaborated with professional voice actors to create each of the voices. We also use Whisper, our open-source speech recognition system, to transcribe your spoken words into text.

Image understanding is powered by multimodal GPT-3.5 and GPT-4. These models apply their language reasoning skills to a wide range of images, such as photographs, screenshots, and documents containing both text and images.

Users might depend on ChatGPT for specialized topics, for example in fields like research. We are transparent about the model's limitations and discourage higher risk use cases without proper verification. Furthermore, the model is proficient at transcribing English text but performs poorly with some other languages, especially those with non-roman script. We advise our non-English users against using ChatGPT for this purpose.

Since text-to-speech produces audio on each slide, there isn't a way to change the voice for all text-to-speech audio in your whole project. Here's a 10-second clip showing how to change the voice on each audio file.

I'm not aware of a bulk method for changing the voice for the entire presentation. As Lauren mentioned above, the Text-to-speech feature creates separate audio files for each slide, so you'd need to change them individually as well.

Easily convert your US English text into professional speech for free. Perfect for e-learning, presentations, YouTube videos and increasing the accessibility of your website. Our voices pronounce your texts in their own language using a specific accent. Plus, these texts can be downloaded as MP3. In some languages, multiple speakers are available.

With the right permissions, you can link your calendar to the app so that it automatically creates transcripts of your meetings through any third-party video and voice calling apps like Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

The Google Pixel 4a phone goes a step further and can transcribe mobile network calls, voice and video calls on apps such as WhatsApp and Zoom. The ability to caption phone calls will likely roll out to other devices.

Speech-to-text apps are unregulated, which is fine for personal use, but for communication needs in the workplace and in health care settings, we recommend regulated alternatives such as speech-to-text reporters for transcribing in-person or online meetings and appointments, and the Relay UK app for transcribing phone calls via a live relay assistant.

Natural sounding text to speech in 90 languages, with 700 voices, will help you create audio files and narrated videos quickly. When you want to change the script in the future, just update a bit of text. Stop wasting time on recording and re-recording the narration.

Turn a subtitle file into audio, synchronized with timestamps in the subtitles. Easily produce voiceover dubbing in a different language for e-learning content, make alternative audio tracks for videos and localize audio content without wasting time on audio/video synchronization.

Narakeet is a text to speech video maker, allowing you to turn a script to voice over, and edit videos as easily as editing text.
