My life as an athlete

I personally enjoy doing sport. In the past, i didn’t realize how important it was in my life, but now, I really love doing exercise. For me, it’s a great activity that allows me to keep fit and healthy, and also, it’s such a great way of having fun and distracting my mind. So, it could be said that sports are essential in my life.

There are plenty of sports that require a lot of effort, but not all of them. I think that, in order to be in shape, you have to do a sport such as athletics, because here you will need to try your best to follow a strict routine of exercise and hard work. Therefore, it can be sometimes exhausting, so you need to make sure that you really want to do this.

As I told you before, I am a regular sportsperson. However, I also prefer watching some sports instead of playing them. For instance, I used to do swimming when I was younger but finally it bored me. That’s why now, I only watch swimming competitions.

Report on staff leaving Parkside

Introduction

The aim of this report is to outline the staff leaving one of our company's retail stores, Parkside; and to analyse the requests of the aforementioned store staff.

The increase of resignations in Parkside

Over the last year the number of employees leaving Parkside has increased worryingly, especially when compared to the amount of resignations received at other warehouses such as Highgate.

In 2007, the number of staff leaving was as much the same in Highgate and Parkside, 4 and 5 respectively. Meanwhile, in 2008, Highgate submissions have kept more or less alike, even that number has decreased. Nonetheless, in Parkside there’s been an increase in the staff leaving, 20 resignations against 2 in Highgate.

Requests from Parkside staff

To begin with, Parkside staff ask for extra training for the newbies, which could be of great benefit for the company since the trained staff is more efficient; in consequence, costs would be reduced. As well, if veterans train amateur members bonds between the staff would be more solid.

Secondly, the staff request more paid holidays which is impossible due to the costs. We can not afford paying more holidays if we don't want to go into bankruptcy.

Last but not least, there is an appeal for bonus schemes which would be a good idea in order to motivate the workers; thereby, a bonus would also conclude in an increase of productivity.

An essay: My English learning journey

Nowadays, most people share the view that learning English is important. It goes without saying that is the same for me, I have been learning English for almost ten years.

Firstly, it is undeniable that English is paramount. As a result everyone learn English, maybe because they enjoy learning new languages or maybe because they need to learn English for their work or something. But why is English key?

To my mind, I think that English is important because it is one of the languages of the future. Currently is the most speak language by non-native speakers, and, personally, I think this is going to evolve into the future's language.

Secondly, the best things about learning English is also an important point to consider because having fun and enjoying is the most crucial thing while a learning process.

The best thing to learn English is the ability to understand what others are saying. Perhabs it sounds absurd but it's breathtaking when you notice that you are able to understand something in a language that is not your mother tongue. In that moment you feel relieved, ecstatic, terrific, you feel that it was worth it.

Last but not least, the worse things about learning English should be mentioned since things are not incredible always, every process has it's appalling moments.

While I'm learning English I feel pathetic, petrified, ludicrous and absurd because it is a tough process. There are moments when frustration surpases you because you don't understand anything, or because an exercise seems to be impossible. Those moments are the one that make you learn more, but are horrible.

In conclusion, for me learning English has been a long way that will never end. It has been a path that I have enjoyed so much and that have taught me a lot of English and a lot about myself. It has had unpleasant moments but I always have been able to overcome them.
