If you want a versatile 2-in-1 audio solution that switches between open-ear and in-ear styles for PC gaming, work, and daily fitness, choose PAXA 2; if you need a dedicated underwater device with built-in storage to swim without any phone tether, choose SAMVEK Swimming Headphones Underwater.
• PAXA 2: Offers the unique flexibility of two headphone types in one case (clip-on open ear + traditional in-ear) with Bluetooth 6.0 for ultra-low latency, but it lacks native underwater MP3 playback.
• SAMVEK: Delivers true IP68 waterproofing and 32GB internal storage for music while submerged, yet it is strictly limited to bone conduction and cannot function as a dual-purpose headset for varied listening environments.
• Choose PAXA 2 if you are looking for a primary gaming headset for pc or a multi-scenario companion that adapts to quiet study and active outdoor use.
• Choose SAMVEK if your primary goal is an open ear earbuds for pc alternative specifically designed for lap swimming, snorkeling, or water-based sports where a phone connection is impossible.
The PAXA 2 is built for the person who refuses to compromise on versatility. Its standout feature is the "2 in 1" design, which provides two distinct pairs of earbuds within a single charging ecosystem. You get a pair of clip-on open ear buds for situations where situational awareness is critical, like running outdoors or monitoring your environment while working. Then, you have a pair of in-ear buds ready for when you need to isolate yourself from noise, focus on deep work, or listen privately without disturbing others. This duality solves the common dilemma of choosing between comfort and isolation.
For those seeking a gaming headset for pc, this unit offers a significant advantage through its Bluetooth 6.0 chip. While desktop computers generally lack built-in Bluetooth reception, the product description confirms it can be used with a laptop and even supports connecting to two devices simultaneously. This makes it an excellent choice for streamers or gamers who might need to monitor chat on one device while gaming on another.

However, this device is not for everyone. If you are a competitive swimmer who needs to listen to music underwater without carrying a phone, the PAXA 2 will fall short because it relies entirely on a wireless signal from a connected device. There is no mention of internal MP3 storage or underwater operation in its specifications. Furthermore, while it features IPX5 waterproofing to withstand heavy sweat during intense workouts, it is not rated for complete submersion. If your lifestyle revolves around pool training or open-water swimming, this specific trade-off means you should look elsewhere.
The SAMVEK Swimming Headphones Underwater is a specialized tool designed for one dominant purpose: aquatic performance. Unlike standard Bluetooth headphones that struggle in wet conditions, this model boasts an IP68 waterproof rating, meaning it can withstand complete immersion up to two meters deep. This is a critical distinction for swimmers. The device includes a built-in 32GB MP3 player capable of storing up to 8,000 songs in various formats like MP3, WMA, WAV, APE, and FLAC. Because water blocks Bluetooth signals, the user simply switches to MP3 mode via a double-click of the power button and swims freely without a phone tether.
This unit utilizes bone conduction technology, which keeps the ear canal open and clean. This design allows you to hear your own breathing and ambient sounds while enjoying music, a safety feature that is paramount when swimming alone or in busy pools. The weight is minimal at just 30 grams, ensuring that the headset does not feel burdensome during long laps. The control scheme is equally practical for wet environments, using simple physical buttons rather than sensitive touch controls that might fail when covered in water or sweat.
That said, the SAMVEK has clear limitations outside the water. It is strictly a bone conduction device, so it does not offer the deep bass or privacy of traditional in-ear buds. It is not designed to switch modes for different scenarios like the PAXA 2; it is a single-function tool. Additionally, while it supports Bluetooth 5.4 for land use, the battery life is capped at 8 hours of playback. If you plan to use this as your all-day driver for office work or long gaming sessions on a PC, the lack of in-ear options and the specific nature of bone conduction might make it less comfortable for extended periods compared to a hybrid solution.
• Best for underwater swimming → SAMVEK: Only the SAMVEK offers true IP68 protection and internal MP3 storage, allowing you to swim without a phone.
• Best for versatility and switching scenarios → PAXA 2: The PAXA 2 lets you swap between open-ear and in-ear styles instantly for different activities.
• Best for low-latency gaming → PAXA 2: With Bluetooth 6.0 and zero latency claims, the PAXA 2 is better suited for responsive audio needs than the SAMVEK.
• Best for hearing surroundings safely → Tie: Both use open designs, but SAMVEK's bone conduction is specifically tuned for high-safety aquatic environments.
• Best for battery endurance → PAXA 2: PAXA 2 offers up to 24 hours of continuous use per charge and a massive 140-hour standby time with its case.
• Best for offline music storage → SAMVEK: The 32GB internal memory allows for thousands of songs without needing a paired device nearby.
• Best for multi-device connectivity → PAXA 2: Can connect to two phones or devices simultaneously, a feature not mentioned for the SAMVEK.
• Best for stress relief and ergonomics → PAXA 2: Includes a rotating metal ring case designed as a fidget toy to help melt away anxiety.
I would buy the PAXA 2 for my daily life and gaming setup because it offers a level of adaptability that the SAMVEK simply cannot match. The ability to switch between open-ear and in-ear modes means I can game comfortably on my PC with the right isolation, then run errands with the clip-ons to stay aware of traffic. It feels like a more robust investment for someone who wants one device to handle multiple aspects of their digital and physical life. However, if you are primarily a swimmer who hates dragging a phone to the pool, the SAMVEK is the only logical choice for that specific niche. For everything else, the PAXA 2 wins on feature richness and connectivity.
Yes, the PAXA 2 works well with laptops for gaming due to its Bluetooth 6.0 low-latency capabilities, though desktop users may need a separate Bluetooth receiver. The SAMVEK can connect to a PC via Bluetooth 5.4 for general audio but lacks the gaming-specific latency optimizations found in the PAXA 2.
Both products are designed for adults, but the SAMVEK is explicitly marketed for swimming with its IP68 rating and lightweight build. The PAXA 2 is not rated for underwater use, making it unsafe for swimming despite its IPX5 sweat resistance.
With the PAXA 2, you generally need a paired device to play music since it lacks internal storage. The SAMVEK, however, has 32GB of built-in memory, so you can load music directly onto the device and swim without carrying a phone.
The PAXA 2 is superior for long durations, offering up to 24 hours of playback and 140 hours of standby time with its charging case. The SAMVEK provides a solid 8 hours of playback on a single charge, which is sufficient for most swim sessions but shorter for all-day travel.
