Events

• Date: Every Fridays (October 2, 9, 14, 30 | November 6, 13, 20, 27)

• Location: Toronto Public Library - Richview Branch (Richview Meeting B), 1806 Islington Ave., Etobicoke, ON M9P 3N3

• Check-in Time: 5:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M.

• Round 1 - 6:00 P.M. 

• Round 2 - 6:15 P.M.

• Round 3 - 6:30 P.M.

• Round 4 - 6:45 P.M.

• Round 5 - 7:00 P.M.

• Round 6 - 7:15 P.M.

• Round 7 - 7:30 P.M.

• Final Results will be displayed and Prizes will be e-transferred to your email!  Make sure your email is correct!

• Format: 7 Rounds Single-Swiss Style (CFC Quick Rated)

• Time Control: 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment

• Pairings: It is based on CFC Quick/FIDE Rating.  If a player does not have a CFC Quick/FIDE rating, the CFC Regular Rating will be used.    

• Section: Open

• Capacity: 32 people

• Requested Byes: ½ Point for Round 1-3, BUT 0 Point for Round 4-7.  3 MAXIMUM BYES!

• Equipment: Board #1 will be played with the DGT pieces and KOWAKU clocks will be used for the event.  PLEASE handle all equipment carefully, as it is expensive and used for future events.

• Tiebreaks: It will determined by Points, Buchholz, Sonneborn-Berger, and Number of Wins!

• 💵Prize is Cash Fund: The prize fund is based on the number of participants!  In case if some people are tied, then the prize fund will be split!  

• ⚠️If there are less than 10 players, then the prize fund will be adjusted and there will be possibly no side prizes (JUST TOP 3)!

• ⚠️For the Top Prizes (Example: Top Junior), the prize fund will NOT be split!

• Top Junior (Age U20): $40

• York University Student/Staff/Alumni: $20

• Titled players (FM/CM/NM/WFM/WCM/WNM): $20

• Titled players (GM/IM/WGM/WIM): FREE ENTRY - Email me for details!

• When you e-transfer the payment, make sure you provide in this order: the date of the tournament, your full name, email, phone number, CFC/FIDE ID, and any requested byes!

• There will also be on-site registration if the capacity has not reached the limit!

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• ✅No Show: Players who do not show up for Round 1 will be withdrawn and will not receive pairings in later rounds.  If you arrive late (for example, Round 3 or 4), please contact the organizer.  You may still be allowed to join the tournament and will be paired starting from the next available round.  You will not receive pairings for rounds you missed!

• ✅Make sure that you have a CFC ID.  If you don't, please visit the section "Membership and CFC" for more information!

• ✅Withdrawal: If you cannot be able to make it for the tournament, please email me before the day of the tournament before 11:59 P.M.  You will be refunded BUT it will come with a 50% deduction fee!  After the day of the tournament, NO REFUNDS will be issued!
