PRIVACY POLICY — Pawly: Pet Health & Care

Pawly ("we", "our", or "the app") is a pet care companion app. This Privacy
Policy explains what information the app handles and how. By using Pawly, you
agree to this policy.
1. INFORMATION WE HANDLE
Pawly is designed to be private by default. The pet and health information you
enter is stored locally on your device.
a) Data you create (stored on your device)
- Pet profiles (name, species, breed, birth date, photo)
- Health records: vaccines, weight entries, vet visits, medications and doses
- Daily logs: meals, walks, potty logs, tasks
- Timeline entries (notes, photos, and videos you add)
- App settings (theme, language, currency, reminders)
This data is saved in a local database on your device. We do not upload it to
our servers.
b) Photos and camera
If you add a pet photo, a timeline photo/video, or send a photo in AI Chat,
the app accesses your photo library or camera only for that action. Media you
add is stored locally on your device.
c) AI Chat (optional feature)
When you use the AI assistant ("Lumi"), the message text — and any photo you
choose to attach to that message — is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to
generate a response. Do not include information you do not wish to share with
a third-party AI provider. OpenAI processes this data under its own terms and
privacy policy. We do not use your conversations to train models.
d) Purchases
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. We do not receive
or store your payment details. Apple shares only the purchase/subscription
status needed to unlock premium features.
e) Diagnostics
The app does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. The
platform (Apple) may collect standard crash/usage data under its own policy.
2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use the information solely to:
- Provide the app's features (tracking, reminders, AI assistance)
- Generate AI responses you request
- Process and restore your subscription
We do not sell your personal information.
3. NOTIFICATIONS
If you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device
(e.g. vaccine due dates, medication times). You can disable these in Settings or
in your device settings at any time.
4. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Your data remains on your device until you delete it. Deleting a pet removes its
associated records. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.
5. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Pawly is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect
personal information from children.
6. SECURITY
Local data is protected by your device's standard protections. Data sent to the
AI provider is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
7. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
- Apple (in-app purchases, platform services)
- OpenAI (AI Chat responses), only when you use that feature
Each third party handles data under its own privacy policy.
8. YOUR CHOICES
- You can use most of the app without an account.
- You can choose not to use AI Chat, so no message data leaves your device.
- You can disable notifications and camera/photo access in device settings.
9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected
by the "Last updated" date above.
