I'm a stay-at-home mom and disabled veteran. I was in the military for 10 years but was medically discharged after developing a spinal disability. During that time I often watched my friend's pets as they'd go on deployment or underway for days, weeks, or months at a time. I also had my most cherished kitty and best friend during these years, Raynie. She was with me from my childhood into adulthood but has since crossed the Rainbow Bridge. ♡
Growing up, we were a cat family, from kittens to seniors, so cats have always been my primary experience. Growing up in this environment, I gained knowledge of cat behavior, both oral and topical medication administration, how to safely trim claws, and flea (or other skin issue) baths. I also used to TNR stray cats in our neighborhood and so have some experience with feral kitties and safe pet transport.
A few years ago, I volunteered at an animal rescue and from there gained experience with senior and physically disabled dogs, as well as topical and oral medication administration. I can handle most dogs that pull, but prefer them to be 100 lbs or less for safety purposes relating to my disability.
I am certified in Pet CPR and First Aid as well as Basic Obedience Training. I'm always working on furthering my qualifications and knowledge base to benefit the animals in my care!
Our family currently has two tabbies we adopted as kittens, Leia and Skye, and an Aussie we just adopted this May, Maple!
Super chill, just enjoys spending time on the couch looking outside. She's obsessed with the laser pointer and food. She's amazing with children and quite docile...unless you're Skye!
She's 7 years old.
Not the smartest, as she often runs into doors LOL. She's very shy and dislikes men, children, and Leia. Enjoys catnip toys the most! She's super sweet if she lets you get to know her.
She's also 7 years old.
Recently adopted on May 21st. More about her coming soon ♡
She's 3 years old.
