Research Scientist, Icelandic Institute of Natural History (IINH), Akureyri, Iceland, Sept. 2012–present
I am in charge of conducting basic research in the area of botany. My primary areas of scientific interest include non-native species, phylogeography, and biogeography. In addition to my scientific duties, I am in charge of the IINH's plant distribution databases. I am the curator of the vascular plant herbaria in Reykjavik (ICEL) and Akureyri (AMNH), and I represent Iceland in several international organizations and expert groups (see below).

I was responsible for teaching general botany, phytosociology, and systematic botany courses. I was also the main person in charge of organizing the biology students' practical field course. In addition to my teaching duties, I was in charge of conducting basic botany and biogeography research.
