I am Pavan Kumar Thimmavajjala and am currently a Doctoral Scholar in Economics at Indian Institute of Management (IIM) , Kozhikode, Kerala.
Specializing in Macroeconomics, Urban & Transport Economics, I bring a blend of academic depth and practical insights to my work. Previously, I worked as a Research Associate in Urban Economics at the University of Hyderabad, where I explored urban systems and economic development. Additionally, I spent two years in the corporate sector, collaborating with think tanks and a leading tech major. With three years of professional experience, my expertise bridges research-driven analysis with real-world economic applications.
I grew up in Hyderabad and did my schooling from at The Hyderabad Public School. The diversity in the backgrounds of my peers made me explore social relations, society, history and finally landed in economics. I have been an avid quizzer and remain so. As a history and a movie buff, I read about law, geopolitics and history and love watching movies and documentaries in my free time.
I also run the 'Seedhi Baat : Youth Podcast' along with Ms. Lavpreet Kaur where we invite guests from diverse backgrounds and have discussions on various themes and topics.
In my earlier avatars, I have been a data journalist (with IndiaSpend), a BFSI Risk Analyst (at TCS) before returning to academia and policy research.
