I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, where my research focuses on nanophotonics-enabled solar membrane desalination (NESMD), also known as photothermal membrane desalination (PMD), with a particular emphasis on air-gap configurations. In parallel, I am contributing to a government-funded Anusandhan National Research Foundation project exploring nature-inspired multistage evaporator systems for enhanced solar-driven water purification.
I have completed my PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur under the guidance of Jishnu Bhattacharya. My doctoral research, titled “Performance Enhancement of Nanophotonics-Enabled Solar Membrane Desalination,” combined experimental and numerical approaches to advance NESMD systems. I investigated direct contact configurations and improved system performance through the use of solar concentration techniques and comprehensive parametric optimization.
I was honored to be a recipient of the Prime Minister Research Fellowship (2021–2023). Prior to my doctoral studies, I completed my M.Tech., where I worked on the aero-thermal analysis of film-cooled turbine blades, developing a strong foundation in heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
