I have to admit, that when I first arrived in here, my knowledge of Clarenville was limited to the panoramic view of the Town from the vantage point of the dining room of the Holiday Inn (Now Clarenville Inn).
1992 changed all that for good. During that first year, I met a lot of people and found out a lot of things about my new home. One of which was Boonie. Over the years what I knew of him expanded from just knowing that he was the guy who sold fresh-cut Christmas Trees at Christmas Time to understanding him as a wonderful and colourful guy who was a respected fixture in the community, always willing to lend a hand or share a story. His exploits were legendary, whether saving someone's life, shaving to support local charities or simply offering a kind word to someone in need.
He will be missed by so many. God's speed Boonie (Ralph)...
