Dr Sze was formerly a secondary school teacher, an education inspector (English) with the Education Department of the HK Government, a lecturer (English) at Northcote College of Education, and a senior lecturer at the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He is currently an Honorary Professional Consultant of the CUHK Faculty of Education, and the ELT Consultant to the Hong Kong Jockey Club Flipped Learning Pilot Project. Dr Sze has over 30 years of experience in English Language teacher education. He was honoured with the CUHK Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2005, after receiving the Faculty exemplary teaching award on several occasions. Dr Sze was the founding chairperson of the Hong Kong Basic Competency Assessment (English) Development Committee. He has been the Chief Examiner for Territory-wide Student Assessment for Primary 6 English, as well as an Accredited External School Reviewer of the Education Bureau, HKSAR. He is currently teaching ELT methodology courses on the MA ELT and the PGDE programmes at CUHK. In 2018, he was named by the Flipped Learning Global Initiative (FLGI), the international leading professional organization in flipped learning, as one of the world’s top 50 leaders (Higher Education) in flipped learning. He possesses a Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard University. One of his academic interests is technology-enhanced language learning. He is currently a Microsoft Certified Educator, a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, and a Google Certified Trainer.
