I am an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). My research lies at the intersection of regulation and disclosure, spanning both the auditing and financial accounting literatures. Using archival methods, I study how changes in regulation, disclosure, and technology affect capital-market participants’ use of accounting information. My research has been presented at various accounting and finance conferences. In addition to my research, I teach auditing to both undergraduate and graduate students at UTA. I have also taught auditing as well as financial and managerial accounting at Penn State. I received my Ph.D. from The Pennsylvania State University and have both a B.S. in Actuarial Science and an M.S. in Accounting from Oakland University. Before pursuing my PhD, I garnered invaluable experience as an accounting manager with R.D. White Company Inc. and as an associate with PricewaterhouseCoopers, both in Detroit, Michigan.
