Title: Bless My Hustle

Story Behind it: In the stillness of a sunlit moment, a child kneels by the river’s edge, pulling water by his mouth. The cool liquid, a fleeting gift, ripples with life as it touches parched lips. His reflection wavers, imperfect and fractured, a mirror of the journey etched upon his small, scarred back—a silent testament to battles fought and hardships endured.

Yet, in his eyes, there is no bitterness, only the quiet grace of gratitude. For in each drop, he finds solace, a blessing amid his humble hustle. The scar, once a mark of pain, now tells a story of survival, resilience, and the beauty found in the simplest of victories.

This artwork whispers to the soul, reminding us that the grandeur of life is not measured by the size of our achievements, but by the depth of our appreciation for them. It is a call to cherish every sip of water, every breath, every step—no matter how imperfect the reflection may be—for it is in these moments that we truly find our blessings.

Title: Sunzu

Story Behind it: Amasunzu is a traditional hairstyle from Rwanda that was historically worn by both men and single women. Amasunzu was a way for males to display their strength, bravery, nobility, and status.  Single women wore Amasunzu haircuts as a sign to possible suitors that they were available for marriage.  It is common to refer to the hair as having crescent-shaped crests. I've got inspiration once I saw its curve uniqueness.

This artwork wants to celebrate the Rwandan traditional haircut uniqueness.

Title: Umugwaneza 

The story behind it: Three fists crash into the earth, each blow resonating with the force of struggle. From the most worn fist, a stream of blue flows—gentle, yet powerful—spreading to the others. What began as an act of aggression softens as the blue, a symbol of kindness, weaves through the conflict, transforming the intent of each strike.

This artwork speaks of contrasts—strength, and compassion—revealing that even in the heat of battle, a single act of kindness can ripple through and heal, reaching even the opposing side.

Title: Imvano

The story behind it: The story is found in Proverb 6:6-8

6   Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!

7   It has no commander, no overseer or ruler,

8   yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. 

Imvano wants to highlight and celebrate the hardship of an ant's work, diligence, and wisdom in planning for the future.

Title: A Whistle in the Night

The story behind it: Beneath the fading moon, a lone figure stands, his whistle a gentle melody that dances through the stillness of the night. A butterfly, delicate and light, rests upon their hand, drawn to the quiet tune that echoes softly in the darkness. The moon, though fading, casts its gold glow across the scene, its light a tender embrace, gentle yet profound.

In this moment, the whistle becomes more than just a sound; it is a gift—a small offering to the night, much like the moon’s light. Though the figure has little, their song, like the moon’s glow, touches the world around them, leaving a quiet but lasting impact.

"A Whistle in the Night" is a tribute to those who, with humble means, still find the courage to share their light. It celebrates the beauty of giving, no matter how small, and honors the quiet strength of those who, like the fading moon, illuminate the darkness with whatever light they possess.

Title: Breakthrough

The story behind it: In the heart of the universe, the Earth stands, half-veiled in paper, bound tightly by ropes. These ropes, rough and unyielding, symbolize the challenges that confine and restrain, wrapping around the fragile sphere like chains of doubt and fear. But from deep within the earth, roots emerge—strong, determined, relentless. They push against the ropes, breaking them, tearing through the barriers with the quiet power of growth and resolve.

The paper, fragile and torn, represents the inner world we craft in our minds, a world shaped by both our fears and our dreams. As the roots break free, they symbolize the ways we find to overcome the obstacles that keep us from reaching our full potential. They are the embodiment of personal triumph, the victory of persistence over adversity.

"Breakthrough" is a visual ode to the strength within each of us—the roots that rise to shatter the chains, the power to reshape our inner world, and the courage to break free and reach beyond what once seemed impossible.

The story behind it: In "Under The Arm," the arm serves as a guardian, embodying the art medium that cradles and protects the delicate ideas born from an artist's mind. This necklace, with its intricate weave, represents the vital connection between thought and creation, where every bead is a moment of care, a deliberate act of preservation.

Title: Endless Quest

The story behind it: In "Endless Quest," the mind is a battlefield where a fading brain gives way to a chessboard, with the King standing as a sentinel of strategy and resolve. One half dissolves into the unknown, a reminder of the impermanence of thought, while the other remains, urging the mind to navigate life’s complexities with calculated moves. This duality reflects the journey where every step unveils a new perspective, every challenge tests wisdom, and every victory marks progress in the evolving game of life. 

"Endless Quest" is a tribute to the insatiable thirst for growth, a visual ode to the perpetual pursuit of enlightenment, where each challenge is an opportunity, and each victory a step closer to the infinite horizon of possibility.
