Paul Conrad received a MM in Collaborative Piano and a BM in Piano Performance from Mason Gross School of the Arts (MGSA). He is the choir director and organist at Middlebush Reformed Church (Somerset, NJ), accompanist of the Rutgers University Glee Club (RUGC) and Kirkpatrick Choir under the direction of Dr. Brandon Williams, a lecturer, vocal coach, staff pianist and classroom piano instructor at MGSA.
Paul is an experienced ballet pianist and accompanied several years of American Ballet Theatre and undergraduate classes at MGSA, as well as the Cecchetti Council of America’s International Summer School in Holland, MI. He was accompanist of the Highland Park Community Chorus for 10 years, and has joined Berkshire Choral International faculty for summer festivals in Sonoma, Asheville, Baltimore, Boston, Seattle, and Lenox, and participated in Sheffield, MA as both BCI scholar and apprentice. Paul lives in North Brunswick, NJ with his family and enjoys composing and playing board games in his spare time.
Recent notable performances include performing with BCI under the direction of Frank Nemhauser (BCI Music Director Emeritus) in Seiji Ozawa Hall (2024), accompanying members of HPCC on tour in Spain where he conducted several of his own works (2024), Hub City Opera and Dance Company’s productions Un\Rooted (2020) and Masks (2021), playing and conducting Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy with HPCC (May 2019), accompanying RUGC on tours in the UK and the Netherlands (2015), Scandinavia and Estonia (2018), and at the ACDA Eastern Region Conference in Rochester, NY (2020), as well as accompanying CJMEA Honor Choirs and NJ All-State Choruses.
