Part 1 of 2: Collecting items from nature to make a wreath. We will make the wreath in next week's lesson.
Supplies: A bag or box to collect items when on your walk.
Steps:
Remember to take a container (bag or bag) to collect your items.
Use your eyes, ears, touch and smell while on your walk.
Walk around your neighborhood, the arboretum, the greenbelt or wherever you can enjoy nature.
Look for items on the ground that you can use (leaves, acorns, dried fall plants, dried flowers, twigs, ....) to make a fall wreath.
Observe the color of the trees and bushes. Are they different then spring or summer? Smell the plants. Are they fragrant or not? Touch. Are they soft or rough? Listen. Do you here rustling or is it quiet?
Collect the items you like.
When you get home keep your items in a safe place for us to use in next week's project.
If you could not find anything or could not go on a walk see below for an alternative way to make items for your wreath. This can be done this week or next.
If you could not go on a walk or could not find anything then you can do any or all of these options (you can make these this week or next week when we assemble the wreath):
Use the leaf, acorn or apple template to make your own leaves and acorns. Trace and cut out on colored paper or on white paper and color them yourselves.
Trace your hand or any shape you like on colored paper or white paper and color them yourselves.
