Supplies: Packaged seeds and egg carton tray to start seeds (given away in garden supply bag) , soil, watering can
Steps
Gardeners sometimes like to start warm weather seeds indoors so they get a head start on their summer gardens.
Fill the egg cartons with soil. Moisten the soil but do not saturate. Do not overfill the container with too much water.
Label the egg carton, so you know what you have planted. Seeds can be planted in small holes.
With freshly sown seeds, the goal is to keep the soil moist, but not soggy. Water should be applied slowly, like a gentle rain. Mist if you have a sprayer. Do not let the soil dry out.
Cover egg carton with a plastic vegetable bag or saran wrap until seedlings sprout. Place in a sunny spot once they have sprouted. Can be places on window sill or table near a window
We can transplant some of our seedlings to the school garden once the weather warms up outside.
