Supplies Needed: ruler, paper or printout of observation jounal (see below), pencil or pen

Steps:

1. Go out and take a look at your winter garden. If you do not have a garden go out and look a plant outside to observe.

2. Has it grown. Measure the height and width of your plants and continue to make measurements from now until harvest time to see how much they have grown.

3. What color is your plant? What kind of leaf does it have (rectangular, circular, triangular,...)? What does if feel like? Does it have a smell?

4. If you want to keep a log, then use the observation journal and write down any observations you see.
