PRIVACY POLICY
This privacy policy applies to the Pattern Lock Screen App app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Phone Lock & Utilities App (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Freemium service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".
This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect through the App, how we use and safeguard that information, and the choices you have regarding your personal data. It applies to all users of the App and reflects our commitment to transparency and compliance with major data protection laws and platform policies, including:
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – for users in the European Economic Area (EEA)
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) – for users in California, USA
Google Play Developer Policies – as required by Google Play for apps distributed through its platform
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy and consent to the collection and use of information as described herein. If you do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy or our practices, we kindly ask that you refrain from using the App.
1- EU User Consent Policy & GDPR Compliance
In compliance with the EU ePrivacy Directive and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
We obtain explicit consent from users in the European Economic Area (EEA) before processing personal data or using cookies/ad IDs for personalized and non-personalized ads.
We prompt users to select their ad preferences (Personalized or Non-Personalized) in accordance with Google's EU User Consent Policy.
This ensures that our practices align with both legal and platform requirements for handling user data in a transparent and responsible manner.
2- Information Collection and Use
The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include information such as
a. Device Information
We collect information related to your mobile device to help ensure compatibility and functionality of the App. This includes:
Device model and manufacturer (e.g., Samsung Galaxy S21)
Operating system and version (e.g., Android 13)
Unique device identifiers (such as Android ID or Advertising ID)
Hardware information, including screen size and resolution
Language and country settings
This data helps us optimize the app for various device types and provide better performance across different hardware configurations.
b. Log Data
When you use the App, our systems automatically collect certain log information to help monitor performance and identify technical issues. This can include:
IP address (used temporarily for diagnostics and not stored long-term)
Date and time of access to the App
In-app actions and transitions
Error messages, exception logs, and crash diagnostics
Log data is used strictly for technical purposes and is stored securely with access restricted to authorized personnel only.
c. Data That Stays on Your Device
Some features of the App work with sensitive information such as your photos, intruder photos and your lock settings. This information is processed only on your device. It is never uploaded to our servers and is never shared with us or with any third party.
The App also uses the list of apps installed on your device to provide its app lock features. Limited information about how you use these features may be sent to Google Analytics for Firebase for analytics, as explained in Section 4 below.
3- Third Party Access
The Application uses third-party services for advertising, analytics and crash reporting. These services may collect device information, advertising identifiers and usage data as described in their own privacy policies. The Service Provider may share your information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.
Your photos, intruder photos and lock patterns are never shared with any of these third-party services. Limited information about installed apps, as described in Section 4, may be processed by Google Analytics for Firebase only for analytics purposes.

The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:
As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
with their trusted services providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.
4- App Features and Your Data
To provide the core functionality of the App—such as locking apps, protecting your device and showing security suggestions—the App accesses certain data on your device. This is handled with care and transparency as outlined below.
a. App Lock and Installed Apps
To let you choose which apps to lock, the App reads the list of apps installed on your device (app names, icons and package names). The App also checks when a locked app is opened so that it can show the lock screen.
- The list of your installed apps is used to show you your apps, lock the apps you select and provide security suggestions.
- To understand how our features are used and to improve the App, limited information about app lock activity (for example, which features you use and package names of apps you lock or unlock) may be sent to Google Analytics for Firebase.
- This information is used only for analytics and app improvement. It is never sold, never used for advertising and never shared with any other third party.
- We never collect the content of your apps, your messages or your photos.
b. AI Intruder Lock
When AI Intruder Lock is turned on, the App uses your device's front camera to take a photo when someone enters a wrong pattern, PIN or password.
- The camera is used only when this feature is turned on and only after a wrong unlock attempt.
- The App asks for your permission before using the camera, and explains how this feature works before you turn it on.
- Intruder photos are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers and are never shared with anyone.
- Any AI processing for this feature happens entirely on your device. We do not create, store or share any facial recognition data.
- You can view or delete intruder photos at any time inside the App, and you can turn this feature off at any time in Settings.
c. Picture Lock
Picture Lock lets you choose a photo to use with your lock screen. The photo is selected using the Android system photo picker, so the App only accesses the single photo you choose.
- The selected photo is saved only inside the App on your device.
- It is never uploaded to our servers and is never shared with anyone.
d. AI Security Guard
AI Security Guard checks the apps installed on your device to find apps that are not locked and suggests which ones you may want to protect. It also shows a security score based on your device settings and how many of your apps are protected.
- This check happens on your device.
- Limited usage information, such as when a check is run and your security score, may be sent to Google Analytics for Firebase for analytics, as described in Section 4(a).
- Your photos and the content of your apps are never collected.
- The security score is a guide based only on the checks described above. It does not scan for viruses or malware.
e. Consent
We explain each of these features inside the App and ask for your permission before turning on any feature that needs access to the camera, your photos, your installed apps or app usage information. You can turn these features off at any time.
5- How We Use Information
We use the information collected from you for the following purposes:
- Maintain and improve app functionality
Ensuring the App runs smoothly and reliably with ongoing updates and enhancements.
- Provide app lock and security features
Locking the apps you choose, capturing intruder photos when you turn this feature on, and showing security suggestions.
- Analyze usage trends
Monitoring how the App is used to identify patterns and improve performance.
- Show advertisements
Displaying ads through our advertising partners, based on your ad preferences.
- Notify you about updates and app features
Sending important alerts, reminders, intruder alerts and information about new features or updates.
- Comply with legal and policy obligations
Ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and platform policies.
6- Opt-Out Rights
You can turn off AI Intruder Lock, Picture Lock and AI Security Guard at any time inside the App. You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.
7- Data Retention Policy
Intruder photos, your selected Picture Lock photo, your lock settings and your security results are stored only on your device. They are deleted when you delete them inside the App or when you uninstall the App.
Information collected by our third-party services (such as analytics and crash reports) is kept according to their own retention policies. If you'd like the Service Provider to delete any data related to you, please contact them at micdavisar236@gmail.com and they will respond in a reasonable time.
8- Permissions
To provide full functionality, the App may request the following permissions from your device. Each permission is used only for the purpose described below.
android.permission.INTERNET and android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Used to load ads, send anonymous crash reports and analytics, and check whether an internet connection is available.
android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW (Display over other apps)
Used to show the lock screen on top of the apps you have locked.
android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS (Usage Access)
Used to detect when a locked app is opened so the lock screen can be shown. You must grant this permission manually in your device settings.
android.permission.QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES
Used to show the list of apps installed on your device so you can choose which apps to lock, and to suggest unlocked apps in AI Security Guard. Limited information about app lock activity may be used for analytics, as described in Section 4(a).
android.permission.CAMERA
Used only by AI Intruder Lock to take a photo of a person who enters a wrong pattern, PIN or password. The camera is never used unless you turn this feature on.
android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE, android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_CAMERA (Android 14+) and android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE (Android 14+)
Used to keep the app lock running in the background with a visible notification, and to take intruder photos when a wrong unlock attempt happens.
android.permission.READ_MEDIA_IMAGES (Android 13+) and android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (up to Android 12)
Used to show photos stored on your device inside the App's photo features. Your photos stay on your device.
android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (older Android versions only)
Used to save files created by the App, such as intruder photos, on older Android versions.
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+)
Used to send you notifications, such as intruder alerts and security suggestions.
android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED
Used to restart the app lock automatically after your device restarts, so your apps stay protected.
android.permission.WAKE_LOCK
Used to keep the lock service working correctly while your device is in use.
android.permission.DISABLE_KEYGUARD
Used to show the App's own lock screen correctly in place of, or together with, the device lock screen.
android.permission.VIBRATE
Used for vibration feedback when you draw a pattern or enter a PIN.
9- Your Rights (Under GDPR)
While our App does not collect personal data such as your name, email, or contact details, we do process certain non-personal information (like device data and app usage) to improve your experience. Your photos and intruder photos are never collected by us. Limited information about installed apps may be processed for analytics, as described in Section 4(a).
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you still have important rights related to your data, including:
Right to Access: You can request information about what data we collect and how we use it.
Right to Correction: If you believe any data we process is inaccurate, you can request corrections.
Right to Deletion: You may ask us to delete any data we hold about you where applicable.
Right to Object or Restrict Processing: You can object to or limit how we process your data, such as for analytics or advertising purposes.
Right to Withdraw Consent: If you have provided consent for any data processing, you can withdraw it at any time.
10- Children
The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.
The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discovers that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider (micdavisar236@gmail.com) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.
11- Security
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains. Sensitive data such as intruder photos, your selected photo and your lock pattern never leave your device.
12- Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-10-27

By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
