About Me

A Hint of Me

I qualified in 2002 having completed my training in the Person Centred Approach. My teachers then, Carmel Kelly, Sue Creenan and Chris Jones, offered me a superb introduction to and training in this incredibly potent model of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Over the years, having attended many workshops and trainings with the likes of Dave Mearns, Mick Cooper, Brian Thorne, Margaret Warren, Tess Sturrock, Peter Schmid, Colin Lago and others, I have only added to my belief in the power of the Person Centred Approach.

I have worked in a variety of settings along the way, including as a Counsellor in a GP Surgery; Counsellor and Group Facilitator in an NHS Trust Mental Health Day Centre, delivering Counselling and Anxiety and Anger Management Workshops; Counsellor/Psychotherapist in Private Practice; Tutor in Counselling at City College Brighton and Hove, and now Associate Lecturer on the Certificate and BA (Hons) in Counselling at University of Chichester; I have also worked as an Assessor and Helpline Counsellor for an EAP.

Having lived in Brighton for 20 years, I now live in West Sussex, within the South Downs National Park, just near Petworth. I feel blessed to live within such a beautiful part of Sussex. I thoroughly enjoy my work as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist working face to face with clients. I also thoroughly enjoy working with students at the University as they engage in their development toward becoming Counsellors/Psychotherapists.

Whilst maintaining my steadfast belief in the potency of the Person Centred Approach, I have also done some training in the Gestalt approach and the T.A. approach and these influence my practice on occasion.

In my spare time I continue to enjoy performing on stage and practicing, and competing in, Ballroom and Latin American Dancing. I also enjoy walking with my dog in the wonderful countryside of West Sussex.
