MY PRIORITIES AS SHERIFF
Though I do not have a career in politics or much political experience, I have discovered that an elected sheriff must become somewhat political. To that end, it is important that you, the public, understand my principles, goals, policy positions, and priorities.
Public Safety Accountability: I prioritize delivering high-quality, fair, just, and equitable public safety services to our communities, and I demand that those who deliver these services do so free of bias, guided by integrity and respect.
Mental Health and Substance Use: I am focused on addressing Maine's mental health and substance use crises and the impacts that they are having on our communities by addressing the root causes with working solutions that build community coping, resilience, and health.
Community Collaboration, Outreach, and Transparency: Continuing collaborations with community partners to build, restore, or maintain trust in law enforcement is a priority of our communities and mine. I am dedicated to participation in discussions on community issues and invested in solutions that maintain accountability and trust, address all stakeholder concerns, and reduce recidivism and victimization.
Leadership and Fiscal Responsibility: I am committed to managing public safety and taxpayer funds through smart investments in our communities, upholding high ethical standards, and delivering quality public safety services through strategic oversight and community prioritization.
