Short Description

The Night Unit is a reflective personal essay exploring the persistence of dreams beyond sleep.

Beginning with a vivid, self-contained dream, the piece moves outward into the experience of carrying its atmosphere into waking life, where the boundary between night and day does not fully hold.

Dreams do not resolve into narratives to be decoded, but function as a form of emotional processing that operates outside conscious control, assembling fragments of memory, sensation, and unresolved experience into something that resists interpretation. 

What remains is not the image itself, but its residue, a diffuse weight that settles into the body and continues to shape the day.

The dream ends. The feeling does not.
