Short Description
Pressing Play on the Past explores the experience of being abruptly pulled back into a childhood moment through music, as something briefly lived again.
Set in the sensory landscape of a summer at a country house, the piece moves through the textures, sounds, and rhythms of a time that once felt stable and held. The return is immediate and physical, collapsing the distance between past and present.
As both versions of the self exist at once, the essay traces the dissonance of being inside those moments while no longer belonging to them. The music remains unchanged, but the life surrounding it cannot be re-entered, creating a sharp and disorienting sense of loss.
