 Coffee over a haircut - fukatka??

My hair cut happens at a flat Rs.40  - in and out - hair cutting saloon - outside my apartment complex. 

I prefer this over the Rs. 600 - I will fuss over you - hair cutting saloons next door.

When you are a goneखेस, Rs.600 is just not worth it!

This Rs. 40 joint is run by a middle aged Maharashtrian - his grandfather owned this place.

I am not one of his his great patrons; he probably does not know me from the next door….. Tukaram.

Today , he shocked me -

Even as he was getting his instruments ready.. to do the needful..a local chaiwalla came in with his cutting chai

Before my friend could have a go at my hair,  he turned to me and said:

माफ करा , चाय पिऊन घेतो .. 

आपण कॉफी घेत असालं ना ?, 

मी  देऊ का ? 

असच सहज .. पैशे वैगैरे काही नाही |

I politely declined..

I was amazed by his sheer, natural  courtesy and संस्कार 

Many of us especially my  'educated', resident doctors and postgraduate students have a lot to learn... from this nondescript Rs. 40 - in and out - barber.
