Description
Set within the decaying halls of an abandoned psychiatric asylum, this first-person horror game traps the player in a place long forgotten by the outside world. With no weapons and no way to fight back, the player must navigate crumbling corridors, overgrown wards, and pitch-black stairwells in a desperate attempt to find a way out. But they are not alone. An unknown entity roams the asylum — silent, relentless, and drawn to any sign of life.
Purpose
The purpose of this project was to independently design and develop a horror game from the ground up, with a focus on creating a genuinely frightening experience through environmental storytelling rather than relying on cheap jump scares or combat. Inspired by titles like Outlast and Resident Evil, the goal was to explore how atmosphere, lighting, sound, and level design alone can build tension and dread. By setting the game within an abandoned psychiatric asylum, the environment itself becomes the central element of fear — every dark corridor, flickering light, and decayed room is crafted to make the player feel vulnerable and uneasy. This project served as a personal challenge to prove that a single developer can create an immersive and scary experience by prioritizing mood and atmosphere over complex mechanics.
