Originally from Wellington, I moved to Tauranga 16 years ago.
I have been a front-line Christian social service manager in Tauranga for 8 years before stepping into a national role. I currently work as a Workforce Development Coordinator, where I focus on enhancing the skills and capabilities of the workforce to better serve our communities.
My undergraduate degree was a Bachelor of Arts, in Sociology and Social Policy from Victoria University of Wellington.
I commenced studying towards the Masters in Professional Practice and Leadership at Bethlehem Tertiary Institute in 2022.
I would like to acknowledge the Waikato Graduate Women Educational Trust, through which I was awarded the Dr Vivienne Cassie Cooper Award in July 2023 - a scholarship to enable women to return to study (full- or part-time) after a period in the paid or voluntary workforce or caring for family, to enrol in their first Masters degree.
I am particularly interested in how we recruit, develop and retain our staff/kaimahi serving our communities in ways that are rewarding for staff and organisation, seeking opportunities to enhance this going forward.
