I love using music to learn languages because it is the easiest way to consistently fill my day with language input, and it can be enjoyable even before you understand the words. I listen to music in my target language while I'm driving, exercising, cooking, cleaning, etc. Another benefit is that you tend to listen to the same songs over and over. All these repetitions help you memorize phrase structures and vocabulary, which in turn aids in comprehension. If you read over the lyrics of a song and only understand 10%, don't worry. The song will gradually grow more comprehensible as you progress through the language, and it will be an enjoyable experience to slowly discover what the song is about little by little.
One note of caution: Musicians tend to write in very poetic language, which isn't always great for learning how to speak in real life. If you're having trouble understanding why the words are the way they are, ask a native speaker to clarify.
One app/website that has been great for helping me find songs in other languages, and memorize the lyrics is lyricstraining.com
