ORGANIZATIONS:
Many organizations are working to help protect and preserve Sierra Madre because of its importance to nature and to the people who depend on it. Groups like the Haribon Foundation - Philippines are dedicated to conserving the country’s forests, wildlife, and overall biodiversity by conducting research, education programs, and community-based conservation efforts. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (Philippines) leads national efforts to manage and protect natural resources, including mountain ecosystems such as Sierra Madre, by enforcing environmental laws and promoting responsible use of land and forests. Another active organization is the Masungi Georeserve Foundation, which works hard to restore damaged limestone forests and preserve the unique landscape of the Sierra Madre range. In addition, the World Wildlife Fund Philippines supports projects that protect wildlife, promote sustainable living, and raise awareness about environmental conservation.
These organizations remind us that protecting Sierra Madre is a shared responsibility that helps secure nature’s future.
