Finally, the moment has come for our big announcement…
This January 2025, we’ll embark on a life-changing journey: a cycling and hiking adventure that could last anywhere from 5 to 10 years! Departing from Belgium, we’ll be heading all the way to South Korea.
Why South Korea? Well, it's a country we fell in love with way back in 2008, and it has been close to our hearts ever since. The warm-hearted people we've met are as kind and welcoming as kimchi is spicy ☺, the stunning landscapes, mountains, rice fields, and the richness of its culture have continually drawn us back to it, seven times so far.
We hope that our 8th visit will be something truly special. Our secret dream is to be welcomed as long-term residents, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in everything this incredible country has to offer. It would be an honor to share the unmatched beauty and culture of South Korea with the rest of the world.
Before we set off, we’ll part with nearly all of our possessions, through donations and gifts, paring down our lives to just our bikes and whatever they can carry. With a total budget of 20 euros per day for the two of us, all-inclusive, it’s clear that managing our finances will be one of our biggest challenges. But perhaps, in letting go of what we don’t need, we’ll realize that true happiness isn’t measured by what we own, but by the experiences we share and the freedom we embrace.
What really matters most to us is the journey itself, and the experiences and discoveries it will bring. We look forward to meeting people from all walks of life, lending a hand whenever possible, and exploring uncharted territories.
This marks a profound change in our lives. Of course, there’s no certainty that we’ll succeed, but we’ve come to believe that the only real failure would be never trying at all. It’s a leap into the unknown, driven by a deep conviction that this is the path we need to take to truly live our lives to the fullest.
