PassProof Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 10, 2026
PassProof is built privacy-first. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. In short: your photos and personal information never leave your device, and we do not collect them.
The short version
- We do not collect, store, sell, or transmit your photos.
- We do not require an account or ask for your name, email, or personal details.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers.
- All photo processing — cropping, alignment, compliance checks, background color, and export — happens entirely on your device.
Photos
Every photo you take or import is processed locally on your device. Photos are never uploaded to us or to any server. When you save, print, or share a photo, that action is handled by your device's own Photos, printing, or sharing features — under your control.
Purchases
PassProof offers an optional one-time in-app purchase, processed by Apple. Purchase validation uses RevenueCat with an anonymous purchase record — never your name, email, or photos. Your photos never leave your device.
Permissions we request, and why
- Camera — to take your passport or ID photo. Used only when you choose to take a photo.
- Photo Library — to import an existing photo and to save your finished photo. We only access photos you select or save.
- Location — only if you tap "find a nearby print shop." Your approximate location is used to open a search in your device's Maps app. We do not store or transmit your location.
You can change or revoke any of these permissions at any time in your device Settings.
Third-party services
PassProof has no server of its own. Tapping "find a store" opens Apple Maps or Google Maps, which have their own privacy policies. If in-app purchases are enabled in a future version, purchases are processed by Apple, and we use RevenueCat to verify your purchase status — this involves only anonymous purchase information, never your photos or identity.
Children's privacy
PassProof is rated 4+ and does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Data retention and security
Because we do not collect your data, we have nothing to retain or expose. Your photos remain on your device and under your control.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
