Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 31, 2026
PassageCraft respects your privacy and is designed to collect only the information necessary to provide its core features, subscription access, and optional AI-powered functionality.
PassageCraft does not require users to create an account and does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, precise location, contacts, photos, audio recordings, or advertising identifiers.
PassageCraft uses Apple StoreKit and Apple App Store transaction information to verify subscription status and provide access to Premium features.
This may include:
An Apple-provided app transaction identifier
Subscription product information
Subscription status and expiration information
Entitlement verification information
PassageCraft does not receive or store payment card information, bank information, or other payment credentials. All payments are processed directly by Apple.
When PassageCraft AI is enabled and the user chooses to use an AI feature, the app may transmit the selected word, sentence, and limited contextual information necessary to generate the requested explanation.
Examples include requests to:
Explain a sentence
Analyze a grammar structure
Explain why a structure is used
Provide synonyms
Generate example sentences
Explain word usage
PassageCraft does not automatically transmit article content to the AI service merely because an article is opened or read. AI processing occurs only when the user actively chooses an AI-powered feature.
Technical information such as an anonymous Apple transaction-based identifier, AI usage counters, request identifiers, and subscription status may also be processed to enforce usage limits, prevent duplicate requests, verify access rights, and maintain service reliability.
Certain AI response records may be temporarily or operationally stored on PassageCraft's backend to prevent duplicate requests and ensure reliable delivery of previously completed AI requests.
Users can disable AI data transmission at any time from the Settings control located at the top of the PassageCraft Home screen.
When AI data transmission is disabled, PassageCraft does not send AI requests or the associated sentence, word, or contextual information to the AI service.
Other non-AI features of the application remain available according to the user's access level.
Information processed by PassageCraft is used only for application functionality, including:
Verifying Premium subscription access
Providing PassageCraft AI features
Managing AI usage limits
Preventing duplicate AI requests
Maintaining service security and reliability
Restoring and validating subscription entitlements
PassageCraft does not use this information for advertising, marketing profiling, cross-app tracking, or targeted advertising.
PassageCraft uses the OpenAI API to generate AI-powered educational explanations.
When an AI feature is used, the information necessary to answer the request may be sent to OpenAI for processing.
OpenAI states that data submitted through its API is not used to train or improve OpenAI models by default unless the API customer explicitly opts in. Under OpenAI's standard API data controls, certain prompts, responses, and related metadata may be retained in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days unless different approved retention controls apply. PassageCraft uses Cloudflare infrastructure, including Cloudflare Workers and D1, to securely operate backend services such as subscription verification, AI usage management, and request processing.
Cloudflare D1 encrypts stored database information at rest and protects data transfers using encrypted connections. Cloudflare Docs

Provide application functionality
Maintain subscription entitlement records
Enforce AI usage limits
Prevent duplicate requests
Maintain security and service reliability
Meet applicable legal obligations
Technical records and AI request-result records may remain stored while required for these operational purposes.
PassageCraft does not maintain a separate advertising profile or marketing database about its users.
PassageCraft:
Does not display third-party advertising
Does not use advertising identifiers
Does not track users across apps or websites
Does not sell personal data
Does not share user data with data brokers
Does not use collected information for targeted advertising
Some learning information may be stored locally on the user's device to provide application functionality, such as saved words, progress information, settings, and cached AI responses.
Locally stored information remains on the user's device unless a feature specifically requires communication with PassageCraft's backend.
Removing the application may remove locally stored application data according to iOS behavior.
PassageCraft is an educational application and does not knowingly collect personal information from children for advertising or profiling purposes.
If we become aware that personal information has been collected contrary to applicable law, appropriate steps will be taken to remove it.
This Privacy Policy may be updated when PassageCraft introduces new functionality or when its data practices change.
Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
