Quantum Mechanics I (University of Lethbridge, Canada, January-April 2018)

As a graduate assistant, I taught several times in an Electromagnetism laboratory (5 times, of which one in SCALE-UP format), directed tutorials for the theoretical section of the same course (4 times), substituted in some occasions for professors in their Quantum Mechanics and introductory Electromagnetism courses, and marked assignments for my and other courses. These activities were all concentrated during the period of my PhD at the University of Lethbridge, Canada (January 2015 - August 2017).

Subsequently, I taught two courses in the same university as a sessional lecturer, namely Quantum Mechanics I (Spring 2018) and Experimental Physics II (Summer 2018). During my PostDoc at the Universidad de Guanajuato, in Mexico, I taught Classical Mechanics for second semester students. Since when I moved back to Lethbridge, I taught Introduction to Physics I (Spring 2020, Fall 2020, Spring 2021), Introduction to Physics II (Fall 2019, 2020, and 2021), Contemporary Physics (Spring 2020, Spring 2021), Introduction to Quantum Field Theory (Summer 2021), Physics of Everyday Life (Fall 2021). Currently, I am teaching, Advanced Quantum Mechanics, Contemporary Physics, Theoretical Physics II at the University of Lethbridge.

My effort and dedication were often very appreciated by students and instructors, receiving significant positive feedback and evaluations from them. I report here some of them in full:

  • I loved the setup of this class with the seminars and with one chosen topic that you research all semester. Overall a really good course, I just didn't like the tutorial. Pasquale is amazing, very helpful and supportive of us and our learning. Pasquale's effort into making this course great truly made the difference. (PHYS 3750 Spring 2022)

  • I found the instruction of this course to be very well done overall. Although some of the material was difficult to understand, the tests usually asked questions where it was important to understand the concept and not so much the little details. I enjoyed this class and the instructor. (PHYS 2020 Fall 2021)

  • Professor Bosso is an incredible professor. I have nothing critical to say about him. His passion and intelligence clearly shines through his teaching. (PHYS 2020 Fall 2021)

  • Amazing course! Pasquale shows a clear knowledge and passion for the content. He explains the information very well, and is always looking to answer any questions. (PHYS 2000 Fall 2021)

  • The instructor and course were good. Sometimes the depth the lecture went into was further than my interest or understanding, but was beneficial for physics majors. Overall been a good and fair instructor. (PHYS 2000 Fall 2021)

  • Great class, Pasquale was extremely knowledgeable and I learnt a lot. Thank you!!! (PHYS 3750 Spring 2021)

  • The lecture portion of this class was interesting despite being online. The guests were relevant and prepared thoughtful presentations. The Poster and presentation assignments were perfect for the class instead of being tested on guests topics. (PHYS 3750 Spring 2021)

  • The lectures were helpful. (PHYS 1000 Spring 2021)

  • The teacher was great and always explained the class well. The recorded classes were also super helpful for studying and for notes on class things that may have been forgotten at the time. (PHYS1000 Spring 2021)

  • He’s a great instructor. (PHYS1000 Fall 2020)

  • Professor Bosso was great. The only comment I have is that for first year physics he can a bit much. He clearly has a great passion for physics, but also has huge expectations when it comes to the work expected of students. Midterms were not bad, and I found they were a good challenge but covered what we learned effectively. Assignments were very challenging, and for the first while without a tutorial, they were very difficult. If the assignments were toned down, I think this course would've been nicer. I'm sure in the future I'll look back and be happy they challenged me though. (PHYS1000 Fall 2020)

  • This class was taught fairly well. I do not think I was prepared for the midterm enough, which definitely hurt my grade. Some of the topics were confusing, but with lots of work after class I was able to understand some of them. Office hours were extremely helpful, which was good. Some of the assignments seemed much more difficult than what we were supposed to know for tests, which I guess is not a bad thing. The textbook is pretty good, but the notes were much more useful, as they are specifically related to the class material, more so than the textbook. I liked that the textbook was free online though. I also liked that we were given the opportunity to make up the marks with an extra assignment. (PHYS1000 Spring 2020)

  • This course was challenging and fun at the same time. Bosso was always accepting of questions and he was excited when students went to see him for help during his office hours which showed that he truly cares about the success of his students. His explaining of course material was excellent and his transition to the online model was awesome as well. (PHYS1000 Spring 2020)

  • Dr. Bosso is very helpful and explaining concepts in an understandable way. He is very approachable and take his time when answering questions and also encourages questions which is nice. (PHYS2000 Fall 2019)

  • Pasquale has a great passion for physics and you can tell he wants us to succeed. He is super nice and easy to talk to during office hours. he's a hidden gem in the physics department. (PHYS2000 Fall 2019)

  • This course was very well executed. In the future it would be beneficial to have a more standardized set of experimental handouts as the ones provided often were using different formats. In regards to professor Bosso I have nothing but praise as he is a very helpful, enthusiastic educator. I would recommend that if he teaches another experimental course he try to step outside his comfort zone as a theoretician and explore a slightly more applicative approach. There is a large difference between knowing the complex mathematics of a system and knowing why the machine just isn't working. Great course, great Prof! (PHYS3925 Summer 2018)

  • Excellent. Always willing to take time to explain concepts. Willing to meet needs and interests of students. (PHYS3925 Summer 2018)

  • A phenomenal instructor. I wish I could do as well on his tests as he believes we should do. Always available to help students. His assignments were very leading and often bridged sections or introduced the next topic. (PHYS2150 Spring 2018)

  • Wasn't a big fan of the textbook and its layout. I appreciated the extratime taken to do tutorials and address misconceptions outside the lectures. I feel it definitely contributed to my success in this course. (PHYS2150 Spring 2018)

  • His lectures at the beginning of lab go a little too long, leaving us not enough time to complete the necessary tasks set for the lab. Other than that, he is very good at his job. (PHYS2000 Spring 2017)

  • Pasquale was very good at responding questions in a timely manner. However, sometimes the expectations for lab reports were unclear. A typed document detailing each lab reports requirements would be helpful. (PHYS2000 Spring 2017)

  • Pasquale was very clear and informative. I wish that we had more time for doing the actual lab. (PHYS2000 Fall 2016)

  • It was great. (PHYS2000 Fall 2016)

  • Amazing! Pasquale was excellent in explaining and making sure that we understood exactly why we were doing an experiment and had a firm grasp on the underlying concepts. Also available for help some of the lab report grading was at times unclear. I thoroughly enjoyed this course, it was a good mix of practical & theoretical knowledge. (PHYS2000 Spring 2016)

  • Pasquale is a very helpful instructor. (PHYS2000 Spring 2016)

  • He is soooo smart. He is very willing to help students one on one. He did his best to make it simple but it often went over my head because of the HUGE knowledge gap between him and myself. Over all his is a great instructor. (PHYS2000 Fall 2015)

  • Pasquale did a great job teaching & helping us. With a little bit more practice , he'll be ready to teach his own class. (PHYS2000 Fall 2015)

  • Very friendly! He was very knowledgeable and was willing to help when I needed it. (PHYS2000 Spring 2015)

  • Very helpful! Overall good teaching. (PHYS2000 Spring 2015)
