Pasquale Bosso

About me

I was born in 1987, in Napoli, Italy. I obtained my Bachelor degree in Physics at the Università degli Studi di Napoli "Federico II" in 2010 with a thesis on cosmological inflation under the supervision of prof. Salvatore Capozziello. Subsequently, I obtained my M.Sc. degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics at the Università degli Studi di Roma "La Sapienza" in 2013. I wrote my thesis on light propagation in cosmological space-time at the Universität Bielefeld, Germany, under the joint supervision of Prof. Dr. Dominik J. Schwarz (Universität Bielefeld) and Prof. Alessandro Melchiorri (Università degli Studi di Roma "La Sapienza"). In January 2015, I moved to Canada for my Ph.D. at the University of Lethbridge under the supervision of Prof. Saurya Das. I defended my thesis August 23, 2017. The topic of my thesis was Quantum Gravity Phenomenology. In particular, I studied a deformation of the quantum position-momentum commutation relation, known as Generalized Uncertainty Principle, computing its effects on different quantum systems.

As part of my duties as a graduate student, I taught several times in an electricity and magnetism laboratory, once in SCALE-UP format, and directed tutorials for the same course. Furthermore in 2018, I taught two full courses at the University of Lethbridge as a sessional lecturer. Subsequently, I moved to León, Guanajuato, México, for my PostDoc at the Universidad de Guanajuato. Then, in 2019 I moved back to Lethbridge as an Assistant Professor. I continued teaching and working on Quantum Gravity Phenomenology. 

Currently, I am a PostDoc (Assegnista di Ricerca) at the Italian optics institute (INO) of the Italian research council (CNR). Furthermore, I am a member of the "Cosmology" and "Tests of fundamental laws" Working Groups of the LISA Consortium. I am a secondary proposer of the COST Action "Quantum gravity phenomenology in the multi-messenger approach". Finally, I am a member of the International Society for Quantum Gravity (ISQG).
