Every year we have teachers submit needs and requests, and because of our great success at Great Gatherings, we are able to provide this again.
Every effort is made by PASI to be fair and equitable when considering funding requests for teachers, staff, and students. While PASI would like to honor all requests for funds, we have a limited amount of funding to work with. Preference of funding is given to grant requests that will impact as many FTE students, families, and faculty as possible, with consideration given to those that provide a longer-term benefit. Please recognize that every request is considered important, but a requested item or service must advance PASI’s mission.
PASI Mission: To support and advocate for students, teachers, and interns in the Sioux Falls Public School Spanish Immersion Program.
Before submitting a grant request, applicants must get approval from their principal. Selected applicants will participate in a 10-minute Zoom interview at the end of January (5 minutes to present, 5 minutes for Q&A). Decisions will be emailed the following week.
Selection Criteria:
PASI values fairness and equity in reviewing requests.
Priority goes to proposals benefiting many Spanish Immersion students, families, or staff, especially those with long-term impact.
Requests must align with PASI’s mission and include specific details on material use.
Amazon Wish Lists will not be accepted.
The PASI’s primary goal has been to support Sioux Falls Spanish Immersion students and faculty members in reaching their full potential through continuing education.
Each year, PASI awards $500 to two (2) eligible high school seniors. These scholarships are made possible by the commitment of our members and volunteers who understand that creating an environment of active, engaged families can make the difference in education.
In keeping with our work in building strong family-school partnerships, PASI's scholarship process focuses on the impact an applicant's family, and teachers, have had on their goals to continue their education or training.
